  • The seeds of Starflower (borage) contain the highest percentage of GLA of any plant, and in this supplement, each capsule guarantees 215mg GLA, making it one of the most potent formulations available on the market.
  • Its advantage is that only one capsule per day is required, unlike evening primrose where multiple capsules are necessary to obtain the same amount of GLA. 
  • GLA is the precursor of a particularly important prostaglandin, PGE1, which is involved in numerous significant biological functions.
  • Although the body can produce GLA from Linoleic acid (the Omega 6 fatty acid found in vegetable oils), this conversion is often slowed down or completely inhibited.
