• The properties of Ginger regarding digestive disorders have been known for many years. According to study results, it helps reduce bloating and specifically the discomfort caused by food that is located in the upper part of the stomach. More recently, it has been used to relieve joint discomfort. 
• The active ingredient of ginger is gingerol (gingeroles and zingerones). It contains potassium, zinc, and polyphenols, which are responsible for some of its beneficial actions.
• The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) have approved the use of ginger as a traditional herbal remedy for the treatment of symptoms of nausea and vomiting, as well as mild digestive discomforts such as bloating and flatulence.
