Very good shaver, I come from the 3000 model and found this one to "glide" and adapt better to the corners of the face.. it needs more passes for a close shave but this applies to all the machines I have used.
(the only negative is that it needs its own charger while it could charge with a USB type C like many others)

I got it for my father and he has enjoyed it a lot. Easy to use and does its job and even more.

I have thick and coarse beard hair.
You definitely don't get the same result as with a razor, but it's very close.
It struggles with beards of 2 days or more.

I have been using it for 3 weeks now. I also had the series 1000 and the 3000. The 5000 is something different, I think it fully meets all my needs, deep shave, fast and easy. Of course, this also depends on each hair, which differs from person to person. I am fully satisfied, I believe it is the right one for the money and for what it offers.

Very convenient, easy to adjust, fits well on the face both when dry and wet. Excellent value for money.

4 and not 5 because I have had it for only six months. Two levels better fit than the 3000 series, which was also €10-15 more expensive [and lasted three years].

I also had the older version of the series which has the same blades. The blades lasted almost 5 years for me with daily use, due to work and having tough beard. Cleaning the head is easy and disassembling and reassembling is also easy. The motor from the old one still works. The new one seems more powerful to me.

Incredible. There is also another model with a small difference that comes with a case. However, the spare parts are a bit pricey.

I get straight to the point.
1. Difficulty cleaning (just putting it under the tap doesn't clean it well, if you dare to remove the plastics holding the blades it's like a real Rubik's cube.)
2. Sensitive head base (the head comes off the hinge)
3. The not-so-good curve it has ends up, as you use it, making you press the button that ejects the head and spread your DNA all over the place
4. Beards of 3 days and more, patience and persistence
5. To say something good, zero skin irritation

I have an older model for 5+ years and I can easily say if the designer is the same, he probably started drugs. This model is the worst of all the other Philips I have used in the last 20 years, of course in the same price category.

It can shave very close to what a razor does against the grain. Sometimes it does just as well.

What matters is to make small circular motions, opposite to the direction the blades move (if you look at the heads, there are arrows showing which way they move). This is also shown in the instructions (but who reads the instructions...) The pressure and how much you stretch the skin also play a big role, just like with a regular razor.

Overall, very satisfied with both dry and wet shaving. When you do a deep shave, you need an after-shave for irritation. When you do a more superficial shave, you don't get irritation.

EDIT:
Now I only use this machine and I don't intend to go back to the razor. It takes a little time to figure out how you should shave, but eventually you achieve a shave just as good as against the grain, quickly and with much less irritation. And in fact, I do dry shaving and don't even use after shave

After many years, I tried an electric shaver again and I am very satisfied.
It does the job, OK it needs a few more passes on the difficult spots but nothing terrible.
Easy to use, easy to clean.
5-6 shaves per charge.

I consider it top-notch for daily shaving. I have tried many. For 4-5 day beards, it may not be the best choice, though.

Does a great job, especially on longer stubble, battery initially short lived but after a few charges lasts ages!
Power button can be accidentally pushed when using, but if you hold at the end is no problem, blades apparently self sharpening

It requires shaving every day and is for very short beards... it's not worth buying

Very good shaver. I come from the Philips 1333, this one shaves better three-day beards with fewer repetitions, deeper than the 1333 and of course without irritations. One detail... it doesn't work while charging like it did with the 1333.
