The surgical suture Neosorb Rapid (RPGLA) is a sterile synthetic multifilament absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer consisting of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. Its rapid loss of strength is attributed to the lower molecular weight and irradiated nature of the suture. It is available colorless in various diameters and lengths, adapted to high-quality medical-grade stainless steel needles.
Application & Performance
The synthetic absorbable surgical suture Neosorb Rapid (RPGLA) is selected based on the patient's condition and surgical technique. After implantation, it causes a mild inflammatory tissue reaction, followed by the formation of a fibrous tissue capsule. It is degraded through hydrolysis into glycolic and lactic acid with a gradual decrease in strength until it is completely absorbed.
Advantages:
- smooth passage through tissue
- high knot tensile strength
- knot security
- minimized tissue reaction
- flexibility and easy handling
- high tensile strength
- no need for removal session
- virtually zero material memory
- short absorption time
- complete biocompatibility
