Relentless dog!... Yes, such a type exists. A typical example is Zacharias, the old dog of the low-pensioner Gerasimos. Zacharias, despite his sweet name, daily brings bitterness and sorrow to his unfortunate owner: he mocks, ridicules, and deeply despises him for his poor and miserable life. And when Gerasimos ends up in the hospital with a heart problem, Zacharias exhausts his mockery and sarcasm on him.
The only one who understands Gerasimos is his centenarian friend, Charalambos. He understands him, so to speak, since Charalambos, with advanced senile dementia, doesn't even know who he is or where he is.
The third album in the series "The Peers" by Arkas, bitterly funny and sensitively harsh, deals with the sad problems of old age through the black and incredibly cynical humor of its hero. After all, who could be more of an expert in cynicism than a dog, and especially a relentless dog?
