I have changed many similar DVD-RW drives over the course of many years. Brands like Toshiba/Samsung, LG, Sony Optiarc, etc. The LiteOn iHAS124 seems to be the best of all.
It is completely silent in its operation, the quietest I have ever had. It has a large button for inserting/ejecting discs. It is rectangular and not small and round like I have seen in other competing products.
It has a very noticeable light that clearly lights up when reading or writing CD or DVD discs. It is the most economical of all the products in its category that you will find on the market. But at the same time, it is also the best in terms of quality.
It reads and writes DVDs and CDs quickly. It is internal, SATA 3 for desktop computers and not external. It is not suitable for use in laptops. You will have to install it yourself if you know how.
It is by far the most beautiful DVD-RW drive I have purchased so far. With a rounded design and large, legible letters on the front side, the one you will see after installation.
If it happens to break, I will edit this review. Something I don't think will happen soon. Based on the reviews of other users that I have read.
Update of review (Saturday, January 22, 2022). After approximately 3 years of use. It showed me a slight malfunction in how the DVD/CD tray comes out. That is, the door did not open easily.
However, if this happens to you, simply touch the door with your hand. Play with it a little, upwards. And, at least for me, it immediately fixed itself perfectly. Do not throw away this gem. It is very valuable, despite this minor flaw.
I was so satisfied with this product that I eventually bought it on January 16, 2020, and a second one for myself to replace a very old different brand from 2011 that was not working very well. I installed it on the same day I received it and it works wonderfully!
In conclusion, the internal DVD-RW Lite-On iHAS124 is an excellent, outstanding product that will satisfy even the most demanding of you. Enjoy it!
Έχω αλλάξει πολλά παρόμοια DVD-RW μέσα σε διάστημα πολλών ετών. Μαρκών Toshiba/Samsung, LG, Sony Optiarc κ.α. Το LiteOn iHAS124 φαίνεται να είναι το κορυφαίο όλων.
Είναι τελείως αθόρυβο στη λειτουργία του, το πιο αθόρυβο που είχα ποτέ. Έχει μεγάλο κουμπί εισαγωγής/εξαγωγής των δίσκων. Παραλληλόγραμμο και όχι μικρό και στρογγυλό όπως έχω δει σε άλλα ανταγωνιστικά προϊόντα.
Διαθέτει πολύ ευδιάκριτο φωτάκι το οποίο ανάβει καθαρά όταν διαβάζει ή γράφει CD ή DVD δίσκους. Είναι το οικονομικότερο από όλα τα προϊόντα της κατηγορίας του που θα βρείτε στην αγορά. Αλλά ταυτόχρονα είναι και το καλύτερο ποιοτικά.
Διαβάζει και γράφει DVD και CD γρήγορα. Είναι εσωτερικό, SATA 3 για σταθερούς υπολογιστές [Desktop PC] και όχι εξωτερικό. Δεν κάνει για χρήση σε Laptop. Θα πρέπει να κάνετε την τοποθέτηση μόνοι σας, αν ξέρετε το πώς.
Πρόκειται για το μακράν ομορφότερο DVD-RW που έχω αγοράσει ως τώρα. Με στρογγυλεμένο σχέδιο και μεγάλα, ευανάγνωστα γράμματα στην μπροστινή πλευρά, αυτήν που θα βλέπετε μετά την εγκατάστασή του.

Ενημέρωση αξιολόγησης (Σάββατο, 22 Ιανουαρίου 2022). Μετά, από περίπου, 3 χρόνια χρήσης. Μου εμφάνισε μία ελάχιστη δυσλειτουργία, στο πώς βγαίνει έξω η θήκη για τα DVD/CD. Δηλαδή, δεν άνοιγε εύκολα το πορτάκι.
Όμως, αν αυτό σάς συμβεί. Απλά ακουμπήστε με το χέρι σας το πορτάκι. Παίξτε το λίγο, προς τα πάνω. Και, σε εμένα τουλάχιστον, έφτιαξε αμέσως και τέλεια. Μην πετάξετε το καλούδι αυτό. Είναι πολύ αξιόλογο, παρά αυτό το ελάχιστο ψεγάδι του.
Έμεινα τόσο ικανοποιημένος με αυτό το προϊόν που τελικά αγόρασα στις 16 Ιανουαρίου 2020 και ένα δεύτερο για μένα για να αντικαταστήσω ένα πολύ παλιό διαφορετικής μάρκας του 2011 που δεν δούλευε πολύ καλά. Το εγκατέστησα την ίδια μέρα που το πήρα και δουλεύει και αυτό θαυμάσια!

Unfortunately, it did not last long for me! After 3 months of use, it stopped burning 8.5GB DVDs for me. And around 8 months, it stopped burning DVDs altogether. I tried lower speeds but the problem remains. In the end, I got an LG one which so far seems flawless.
Δεν μου έβγαλε χρόνο δυστυχώς! Μετά από 3 μήνες χρήσης σταμάτησε να μου καίει DVD 8.5GB. Και γύρω στους 8 μηνες σταμάτησε να καίει γενικά DVD. Δοκίμασα χαμηλές ταχύτητες αλλά το πρόβλημα παραμένει. Τελικά πήρα ένα LG που μέχρι στιγμής φαίνεται άψογο.
It is a bit early to talk about this, as I have only had it for 2 months.
So far, it does its job as it should, without creating any noise or problems.

Ειναι λιγο νωρις να μιλησω για αυτο πιστυω μιας και τον εχω μολις 2 μηνες.
Μεχρι στιγμης, κανει την δουλεια του οπως πρεπει, χωρις να δημιουργει φασαριες και προβληματα.
Αν συνεχισει ετσι ( διοτι τον χρησιμοποιω αρκετα ) θα ανανεωσω το σχολιο μου για να τον προτεινω ανεπιφυλακτα. Στο κατω-κατω ρε παιδια, ειναι ενας απλος και τιμειος οδηγος σε καλη τιμη. Απ την στιγμη που κανει την δουλεια του οπως πρεπει και σε τετοια τιμη, δεν το πολυ σκεφτεσαι. Καλες αγορες σε ολους ;)

Ειναι λιγο νωρις να μιλησω για αυτο πιστυω μιας και τον εχω μολις 2 μηνες.
Μεχρι στιγμης, κανει την δουλεια του οπως πρεπει, χωρις να δημιουργει φασαριες και προβληματα.
Αν συνεχισει ετσι ( διοτι τον χρησιμοποιω αρκετα ) θα ανανεωσω το σχολιο μου για να τον προτεινω ανεπιφυλακτα. Στο κατω-κατω ρε παιδια, ειναι ενας απλος και τιμειος οδηγος σε καλη τιμη. Απ την στιγμη που κανει την δουλεια του οπως πρεπει και σε τετοια τιμη, δεν το πολυ σκεφτεσαι. Καλες αγορες σε ολους ;)

Good and quiet DVD recorder. It reads and writes all CDs & DVDs without any problem, unlike the Samsung DVD recorder I had, which sometimes didn't read DVDs.

It still works fine after so many years, but the Eject button has come off and I have to press the red button with my nail to open it.

Δουλεύει ακόμα μια χαρά μετά από τόσα χρόνια, αλλά έχει φύγει το κουμπί Eject και αναγκάζομαι να πιέζω με το νύχι μου το κόκκινο κουμπάκι για να ανοίξει.
