In Anavyssos, Attica, you will find the historical seat and the first winery of the region. The surrounding vineyards mainly cultivate Savatiano, which is perfectly adapted to the dry climate of Attica. The vines are usually old, pruned in a "cup" shape, with very low yields per hectare and high qualitative potential. The younger growers experiment with other varieties. In the privately-owned 35-acre vineyard next to the winery, Malagouzia and Assyrtiko are cultivated, using a supported linear formation system, with very good adaptation and typicity.
In Asprokambos, Nemea, is the second winery that has been established since 2000. The collaborating vine growers, mainly from the mountainous communities of NEMEA, focus on cultivating Agiorgitiko, but over the last 20 years, many Greek and international varieties have been tested. The vineyards planted after 1980 are mainly trained in a linear supported system, with a high growth wall for improved ripening.
The harvest in this area, with an altitude starting from 600m and reaching up to 900m, takes place approximately 2 weeks after the lowland Nemea. Depending on the variety and climatic conditions, it can extend until the first ten days of October. The vineyards of the region exceed 80 acres in seven different areas, with an additional 40 acres on the slopes of Ancient Nemea. The varieties cultivated include Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, Moschato, and other international white and red varieties.
