The tools are NOT sturdy at all, therefore they heat up extremely quickly - if you forget and leave them close to the fire - and they also bend easily - if you happen to use them for a larger log. Also, the bristles on the brush are plastic and not wire, so you can't use it for cleaning the fireplace, only when the fireplace is off and cold.
Overall, not a good purchase at all; I would have preferred to spend another €40-50 to buy real fireplace tools and not decorative ones. Unfortunately, I didn't know since I have never bought before; I had only used those of my parents in my childhood home, so I had to compare with truly quality tools, but I was unaware of their price. Thus, I chose based on appearance and price, assuming somewhat that they would all be of similar quality. Wrongly.
