Lagos & Chelona is a rosé natural wine from the Markogianni winery, made from the grape varieties Roditis (45%), Refosco (22%), Mavroudi (20%), and Asproudes (13%), originating from the family vineyard in the semi-mountainous Olympia. The Roditis remains in contact with the skins, waiting for the other varieties, which after a 12-hour extraction are separated from their skins and combined with the skins and must of the Roditis. The blend then stays with its skins for 12 days. It then ferments in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and is bottled unfiltered.
In appearance, we find a pink color with faint orange highlights. On the nose, caramelized fruits such as mandarin, citron, bitter orange, quince, persimmon, and jasmine are distinguished, followed by a herbal and spicy character. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with moderate acidity, a sense of oiliness, soft tannins that compose a tasty whole leading to a good-length aftertaste.
