  • You need to download drivers from the "sparkfun" site, otherwise it doesn't work.

Unbelievable and yet it worked right away. At 115200 baud, on MacOS Sonoma 14.1, no drivers were needed.

It's okay, it works under certain conditions. The reception is very good, but it doesn't function properly during transmission. The chip enable of the 485 is directly controlled (with an inversion) by the TX data pin, without even a capacitor for delay. However, with a small modification, it can easily be changed to be controlled by the RTS or DTR.
I haven't found anything similar that works correctly, so it's the best solution considering the cost. However, it requires soldering.
I have bought 4 so far, all good
