Description

ESPUMA Exulock dressing is an absorbent, atraumatic polyurethane foam dressing with evenly distributed high-absorption powder or a layer of superabsorbent backing. The ExuLockTechnology foam has an extremely high absorption capacity so that when it comes into contact with wound exudates, the foam massively absorbs all exudates forming a soft coherent gel which is locked within the foam matrix providing a super-exudate management system with gentle gelation action.

The highly breathable film creates a moist healing environment for wounds. Additionally, the adhesive features a perimeter self-adhesive breathable polyurethane membrane that allows for the application of the dressing without additional supporting materials.

  • The dressing absorbs the wound exudates and turns into a soft, hydrophilic, breathable gel.
  • It can absorb and trap exudates over 30 times its weight.
  • The dressing can quickly absorb the exudate and turn into a gel.
  • The exudate is trapped within the dressing without returning to the wound.
  • The polyurethane mesh that comes into contact with the wound allows for quick and controlled absorption of exudates.
  • Painless removal of the dressing without injuring the new tissues.

Pressure ulcer is an injury to the skin that occurs due to continuous pressure. They are formed when blood flow to the area slows down or stops, causing necrosis of small tissue sections.

There are many reasons why a pressure ulcer may develop:

  • Limited mobility.
  • Reclined position or staying in a chair for extended periods.
  • Frequent sliding in bed.
  • Dragging along the bed during position changes.
  • Dry skin.
  • Skin exposed to urine, feces, or bodily fluids.
  • Reduced perception ability.
  • Reduced sensation or sense of pain.
  • Poor nutrition.
  • Angiopathy.
