Specifications
The tradition was started in 1925 by Anselmo Paternoster in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, and later his son Pino expanded the family business, being among the first to produce wines with the Aglianico del Vulture DOC designation of origin in 1971. In 2016, the TOMMASI family acquired the majority stake of the PATERNOSTER winery. DON ANSELMO is the flagship of the winery and is considered the epitome of Aglianico. In a vineyard of just 4 hectares at an altitude of 600m, the Aglianico yields amazing results, justifying its reputation as 'the Barolo of southern Italy'. Don Anselmo is the iconic symbol of the history and tradition of the Paternoster winery and Aglianico wines from Monte Vulture in Basilicata. A wine with depth, complexity, and special potential for aging.
