Description & Specifications

It is 1959, in the full moon of August. In an HLM building in Bobigny, at the gates of Paris, two comic book authors wipe the sweat from their brows. Not only due to the summer heat: the two friends are sweating to find a character idea. They need to be ready for the first issue of Pilote, a new magazine for young people that will be released three months later. The writer is named René Goscinny. His friend, the artist, is Albert Uderzo. They had thought about adapting Reynard the Fox, but someone else had thought of it before them. So, they search. But they find nothing… Until Goscinny has the idea of a little Gaul, mustachioed and stubborn. Voilà: Asterix is born. And, along with him, a fantastic publishing success that becomes a double phenomenon of society.
