As a simple switch it is plug and play and without lags or disconnections, but for the VLANs it has, the settings are very simplistic.

Excellent for the money and it is even slightly managed, providing everything you would ever need for home use. Commendable is the quality of the chassis construction, metallic and sturdy.

Very good for vlan management. A bit strange way to handle untagged vlans. You need to set the pvid for these ports to work properly.

Excellent purchase for network expansion, it requires some configuration as it has a management menu and smart tools (including even the ability to check the length of Ethernet cables, which is usually found in more expensive Managed Switches) and significant capability to "combine" 2 ports together for increased bandwidth for connecting to a NAS. I can't imagine anything better for the price for an 8-port.

Cheap managed switch with all the necessary features for home and small business use. It even has capabilities found in professional switches (e.g. LAG). Evaluating it always in terms of its value for money, it easily gets a 5/5. Evaluating it against something 2.5 times more expensive, it gets a 4/5.

I believe that this switch can easily meet the needs of a home network without any problems. I have purchased 2 and I am completely satisfied. When I connected them, they worked immediately without the need for mandatory configuration from the Easy Smart Configuration Utility.

TIP: Anyone who wants to make settings through the Utility should make sure to have at least version v1.3.6.0, otherwise it will not recognize it.

Do not load router problems on the switch!!!

The only problem I encountered is that the network port lights are on the same side as the ports, so it is not clear which port is in use and which is not.

Amazing value for money with all the capabilities you want or will want in the future (VLAN-QOS).
The V5 I got, you can manage it through its own app and also through web GUI like the older versions. I set it up at home with Unifi AP's and properly distribute the traffic, children, smart home, guests with VLANs. It doesn't have STP management, that's why it gets 4 stars.

Having an amazing image from the 24port, which is truly amazing, I was thinking of bringing home the 8 port. Initially, I liked the menu which was like the 24 port. However, this has a tragic problem. Ping from 1ms to 3500ms, truly tragic. On the internet, it opens pages without lag, no issues, the LAN is okay. But if you try to play online, just forget it... Tragic.

Excellent switch. Heavy construction, suitable for a business environment (although I use it at home with many connected devices) and Lifetime warranty (as stated on the box).

Very good switch, very sturdy construction (weighs half a kilo) and it is all metal. It's worth its money even though 30 euros is not a lot for it. It is plug and play, you plug in the cables and it works. There are 2 lights on each port, the orange one indicating that the device is running at 10/100, while the green one indicates 1000. I have connected 6 devices to it and the connection is absolutely stable. With the old switch, which was an old Tenda, I constantly had issues. The speed on the PC was usually 10-12, while now it's consistently 12.4.
Finally, it has many settings that you can configure, either through its IP or with a program you download from TP Link. It also has QoS and you can adjust the speed on each port.
The only negative is that it takes the ethernet cables from the front and the power from the back, so it doesn't have a "good" side to place it on a desk to be visible.
