The manual you have in front of you titled "Applied Corporate Finance for Businesses" is the Greek translation of the 3rd edition of the book "Applied Corporate Finance" by Aswath Damodaran. There are several modern texts that cover the area of Financial Management by both Greek and foreign, mostly, academic authors.

However, this text offers a truly distinct presentation of the subject matter of Financial Management. It represents the first attempt to demonstrate how the knowledge we have acquired from theoretical and empirical models in the field of financial science is applied in real businesses. This characteristic of the book at hand makes it both more interesting for those willing to understand the direct application of theory in practice and more demanding regarding the effort that must be made by the reader.

Therefore, I consider it ideal for executives in the financial and banking sector, for postgraduate students in the above-mentioned field, but also for undergraduate students who wish to specialize in financial management and work directly as members of the financial management of businesses.

Despite the truly innovative effort of the author to include in the applications of the book businesses of varying sizes, different sectors of the economy, and different countries to demonstrate the generality of the principles and methods of financial management, Greek businesses were not included in the applications. This is expected due to the vast number of eligible businesses and the size of our country.

However, this fact presents a challenge for both teachers and their students to extend the applications of the book to Greek businesses as most of the required data stem from the published accounting figures of public companies.
