    It is not suitable at all for a newborn. The plastic chain is hard and can irritate/hurt the baby if it comes into contact with their skin. It is definitely preferable to have a pacifier clip with a fabric strap. It is fine for a larger age though. It attaches well. It is very pleasing that the baby likes it as a toy and plays with it for a long time.
