Andre Ostertag took his father's small estate and made it one of the most exciting houses in Alsace. He cultivates all his vineyards biodynamically and lectures on his methods at the world's most important oenological conferences.
The "Les Jardins" series was combined by Ostertag to highlight not the terroirs, but rather to express the character of the Alsatian grape varieties. This cuvée is made from Gewurztraminer vines.
The vineyard has been certified biodynamic since 1997, which means that the work in the vineyards is meticulous so that the grapes reach optimal quality. The harvests are carried out by hand followed by a thorough sorting process.
The grapes are pressed in whole bunches for a relatively long period. The winemaking is gentle and follows the rhythm of each wine. Indigenous yeasts initiate the fermentation process and the wine is vinified in stainless steel containers.
A sweet wine with a wonderful balance.
