Samos Vin Doux, belonging to the category of Vins de Liqueurs, is the most popular wine of Samos. It is no coincidence that it is the No. 1 selling sweet wine in Greece, and it is exported all over the world. The land of Samos, influenced by the sun and the Aegean wind, nurtures the internationally recognized white small-berry Muscat on semi-mountainous and mountainous terraces. This is what makes Samos Vin Doux unique!
Both its appearance and aroma are particularly attractive, with a light golden color. The nose is dominated by aromas of apricot jam and ripe melon, expressing the character of the Muscat grape in an exceptionally fresh way, maintaining its primary aromas.
The first contact with the mouth is explosive as its particularly fruity taste "echoes" notes of white-fleshed summer fruits, with hints of butter caramel and small touches of flowers.
As a classic dessert wine, it is served after meals at 8-10°C. The sweets it best accompanies are light and pale such as apple pie, lemon pie, fruit tarts, and also intense creamy desserts.
However, it is also served before meals as an aperitif or during quiet afternoon breaks with fruits, cheeses, and nuts. It is the perfect companion for ripe melon, while desserts, cheeses, fresh or dried fruits adore Samos Vin Doux.
It is also used in pastry making, to create extremely tasty syrups that give a different note to sweet creations.
In cooking, it complements and "binds" sweet and sour sauces aromatically or leaves its discreet sweetness in poultry, Asian or Italian cuisine recipes, and other inspired dishes.
