Sterile sutures Neosorb rapid RPGLA are braided, colorless, synthetic absorbable surgical sutures made of polyglycolic acid 910. The synthetic absorbable surgical suture Neosorb rapid RPGLA is indicated for the approximation of soft tissues, oral mucosa, plastic surgery, and generally where only short-term support is needed. Its use is not indicated for the central cardiovascular, central nervous, and ophthalmic tissue systems.

After implantation, the synthetic absorbable surgical suture Neosorb rapid RPGLA initially causes a mild inflammatory tissue reaction, followed by the gradual formation of a fibrous tissue capsule. The Neosorb rapid RPGLA suture degrades through hydrolysis processes, where the copolymer breaks down into glycolic and lactic acid, with a gradual reduction in its strength, and is eventually absorbed by the tissues. The Neosorb rapid RPGLA suture retains 50% of its strength after 5 days. All its initial strength is lost within 10-14 days after implantation. The complete absorption of the suture is completed in 42 days.

Useful tips: In the days following surgery or procedure, the incision may appear pink and may secrete a clear fluid or a small amount of blood. Contact your doctor if you notice any of the following:

• redness extending beyond the wound site
• bleeding that doesn't stop with the pressure of a clean gauze
• sharp pain, much more than what your doctor told you to expect
• white or yellow pus leaking from the wound
• feeling feverish or generally feeling unwell
