I use the shoe in the snow on the mountain and for hunting. Very comfortable and durable over time, and very good quality of construction. I've had it for 2 years. I haven't faced any problems regarding the sole; it doesn't slip easily, and generally, no drop of water gets in (very good waterproof quality). As for the negatives, it doesn't have very good insulation in very low temperatures. Even with thermal socks, I don't recommend it for very low temperatures. Its sole is not good. I believe that with 15-20€ more, you can get much better. But if you want them for milder weather conditions, then they are just fine. I have something from Grisport for 50€ and they are much warmer than these.

I recommend these specific boots if you want to do easy and moderate level hikes, where you won't encounter hard ground (mainly sharp stones). The boots, due to the sole and their perimeter, seem not to be suitable for demanding crossings and hikes on such terrain. Personally (I don't think I got a defective pair), they lasted through 4 such outings before the sole started to come off a bit and I needed to replace them. The positives I noted were that my foot neither got tired nor was bothered by impacts from the boot. Also, Salomon offers a good warranty, and you are covered for anything. After research and inquiries, I found that they were not suitable for me based on what I do in mountaineering, and I needed to go for something more durable. They would definitely be better for milder conditions.

I have had this specific product for a year. I only use it for mountain hiking and in the snow. Although I didn't expect it from the first time I wore it, and even though it was tough, it was very comfortable on my foot. I went on a 3-hour hike and was afraid I would get blisters, but on the contrary, I didn't feel anything. Since then, I only wear them in the mountains and in cold weather. So they are comfortable, warm, but not suitable for heavy winter and very cold conditions. They are waterproof as they claim, suitable for rocky terrain as they keep the foot stable, and generally suitable for mountain use. The only thing you need to be careful about is that you need to get a size larger. I wear size 43 and I got size 44

These boots are made for hiking. They have good grip and are very comfortable. The best I have tried for hiking. I believe they are durable, time and use will show how well they will hold up.

Compared to other Salomon shoes, it is a disappointment. Terrible construction, not comfortable, and even though I got the right size, I will have to exchange them because they are too big. (Not because they sent me the wrong size. They sent the right ones, but apparently, size 40 in these shoes translates to 41+.)

No relation to the photo!!! I have bought several Salomon products and I was satisfied, but this model is terrible. Firstly, it is made of cheap plastic. And it is also very ugly!!! For its price, it is not worth it. I expected something much better considering the company's profile!!! Don't even think about it!!!!

4 stars because they are not suitable for rocky terrain. The sole is soft and flexible. They do not take crampons but micro spikes. In the snow, they are 100% waterproof without insulation, but with thick socks they are okay. Generally, they are shoes for hiking on and off-road, but not for mountaineering. Not for ice and climbing. For that, a semi-rigid boot is needed. Also not for trails with loose rocks and steep slopes.

I have bought almost all the series of this specific category since 2013 and this one is the best that Salomon has to offer us. For 200 euros, you should know that you are getting a shoe that will keep you warm, waterproof, and lightweight for the next 7 to 8 years
