Description

UniFi Switch Flex Mini: Smart Networking in a Compact Size

The UniFi Switch Flex Mini is a fully managed Layer 2 switch that combines the high performance of the UniFi series with an ultra-compact design. With 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, it is the perfect solution for offices, home networks, or locations where a reliable wired connection is required without taking up valuable space.

Power & Installation Flexibility

The Flex Mini offers unique flexibility in its power supply, as it can operate either via PoE (802.3af/at) on its first port or via a USB Type-C port. This makes it ideal for installations in locations where there is no direct access to a power outlet, as it can be powered directly from a central PoE Switch.

Advanced Management via UniFi Network

Despite its small size, it fully integrates into the UniFi Network ecosystem. Through the application, you can centrally manage all ports, configure VLANs, monitor data traffic, and apply advanced Layer 2 functions such as Port Isolation and Storm Control, ensuring a secure and efficient network.

Efficiency & Durability

With a maximum power consumption of just 2.5W, it is one of the "greenest" network devices in its category. The durable polycarbonate casing and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection guarantee its long-term and uninterrupted operation.

It does not support different VLANs on each port. The default and all the VLANs you set are all together on the ports you use. Without a local controller, adoption is very difficult. With a local controller, it found it immediately.

Plug and play. It is only managed if you have the central ubiquiti hub, but it is not necessary to use it as a switch. The practical thing about it is that it can be powered through PoE, so it does not need an extra power supply and cables.

Operating at home in combination with Unifi Access Points. One management LAN and 3 VLANs (users, kids, and IoT). Few ports are sufficient for me at the moment, I mainly got it to learn and test VLANs. It does not support SNMP and link aggregation, but I didn't expect it at this price. My experience with the access points and the Ubiquiti ecosystem helped me with the setup. Recommended for learning and in cases where many ports are not needed.
