Since 1766, Château Guiraud, declaring its political difference and in a constant quest for prestige, has created an atmosphere of mystery around the estate. The Protestant chapel represents the religious beliefs of the Guiraud family, at a time when everyone around them was looking towards Rome.
Château Guiraud bears a black label, one of the oldest in the Bordeaux area, which has remained unchanged since its creation. Within three generations, the estate was established as a Grand Cru, receiving the Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855 according to the classification of Emperor Napoleon III.
Château Guiraud received organic farming certification in 2011 and has been managing the vineyard organically since 1996, with manual harvesting and careful sorting of botrytized grapes.
