Description

A huntress, a curse, a forbidden love. Welcome to the world of Prythian.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal Fae who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the Fae lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

This book is for you if...

  • ...you love a dark and romantic retelling of a classic fairy tale (Beauty and the Beast).
  • ...you are looking for an immersive fantasy world with magic, danger, and political intrigue.
  • ...you enjoy stories with a strong, resilient heroine who discovers her own power.
  • ...you are a fan of slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance filled with tension and passion.

What makes this story stand out?

  • A Captivating Retelling: It takes the beloved "Beauty and the Beast" trope and transforms it into something darker, sexier, and more complex.
  • Rich World-Building: Discover the intricate and dangerous world of the Fae, with its different courts, magic systems, and ancient conflicts.
  • A Fierce Heroine: Feyre is not a damsel in distress. She is a survivor, a huntress, and her journey from a mortal girl to something more is compelling and powerful.
  • A Sweeping Romance: The relationship at the heart of the story is epic, passionate, and full of twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Narrative Style: What to Expect?

  • A first-person narrative from Feyre’s perspective, pulling you deep into her experiences and emotions.
  • Lush, descriptive prose that paints a vivid picture of the beautiful and terrifying world of Prythian.
  • A plot that expertly blends romance, action, and mystery, with secrets and revelations at every turn.
  • A story that starts as a fairy tale and evolves into a high-stakes, epic fantasy.

  • Another masterpiece from SJM. The reader gets a closer look into Nesta and gets to understand her better. The 4/5 is because I think it was longer than needed, however it allowed the reader to get attached with the characters.

This review is about the book: 3.5: A Court of Frost and Starlight

This is the novella of the series that follows the main ACOTAR trilogy in reading. I want to note that I liked it very, very much and I needed it after the intense war with Hybern! However, I would only recommend it to those who loved the series. The novella follows the period of peace after the war and the lives of each member of the Night Court's close circle, as well as the "marks" that the war left on them. It talks about the celebration of the Solstice and how the characters of the circle evolve, as well as the relationships between them, while being a step before you read A Court of Silver Flames. If you loved the series, I definitely recommend you read it, and I hope it takes you on a journey!
