The Silencio board game by Zoch Verlag is a cooperative card game in which players work as a team but are not allowed to speak to one another. The goal is to discard as many cards as possible by playing a card of a higher value than the previous card of the same color.
When a card is the immediate successor to the previous card of its color, it is placed dark side up and its penalty is applied. Otherwise, it is placed light side up, and the player can use its bonus. Players can also turn over one of the five shrines to use its corresponding bonus. If all players pass consecutively, the game ends, and the score is based on the cards remaining in their hands, with zero being the best possible score. For an easier game, the tavern card can be used; for a greater challenge, some or all of the shrines can be removed.
