  • A bit pricey for an 8-port switch, but due to good support for building an ecosystem from Ubiquiti, it communicates with the other switch which is also Ubiquiti, and since it has 4 ports that can supply power via PoE, the other switch doesn't need a charger and setup is super easy. They can operate directly as unmanaged switches and become managed when you adopt them with the app on your mobile or PC. The only thing left is to get a Ubiquiti router so I can set up VLANs (the provider's router doesn't allow me) with a headache-free ecosystem to isolate vulnerable smart devices so they don't communicate with my NAS and other devices.

so far it works perfectly. I have 4 poe devices (a reolink camera, a u7 lite access point and a google chrome streamer). it shows power consumption for each device separately. you can power cycle them if something gets stuck. If you don't need 8 poe ports it's a better solution than the ultra and it's also cheaper

  • the 4 ports are PoE
you also use it for power, e.g. for an access point u7 lite
