The 1557 is one of the good papers from Canson. This particular one at 120 grams is just right for pencil or charcoal, although I have only tried it with graphite and charcoal, I believe it would also be fine for ink and probably marker. Very good paper for its price and since in Greece I can't easily find Strathmore or Fabriano, it is one of the best papers for drawing with pencil/charcoal, etc. Importantly, in an accident I had when erasing hard with the eraser, the paper, although it slipped and bent, neither wrinkled nor left a crease, and the surface never frayed, no matter how many times I erased in the same spot! Its tooth (which has nothing to do with the photo showing it with charcoal, where it looks pronounced and large) is medium to fine, not very annoying and at the same time, helps the material (graphite, charcoal, etc.) stay on the paper, while also providing good contrast! Perfect tooth, perfect white color and not slightly cream like the 1557 at 160g. In general, quality paper, one of the best options available at this price.
