I will not elaborate on the capabilities, it simply holds and coordinates all compatible TPLINK devices that support the Omada ecosystem, active and functional.
The package does NOT include a power supply.
I have connected it directly to the Omada POE Switch that provides power to the WiFi antennas and it works, I don't remember exactly how much voltage it automatically outputs but I have the impression that it needs 36-48 volts, so if you already have a 24V POE power supply, it probably won't work.
The good thing is that it also accepts power supply via USB-micro connector (5V-1A), so if you have a spare charger from a mobile phone, it will work just fine.
One example of a network that I have used it for is as follows:
Two Modem/routers from OTE on top of an ER605 Router, which is connected to a 24-port POE+ Switch TL-SG2428P, where there are about 18 antennas (EAP225 and EAP230-Wall) and of course, this controller.

The only negative thing is its price (December 2022), which has reached 110 euros!
I had bought it for around 45-48€ and it was worth every penny, but now I see that the price has more than doubled!
To not only blame TP-Link, the same and even worse price increase has also happened with the corresponding controller for UBNT, which is also non-existent as until recently I couldn't find availability anywhere.
The strange thing is that the rest of the Omada equipment has kept almost the same prices, only the controller has such an outrageous price increase and I think it is no longer worth spending more than a hundred euros just for the functionality that this device offers, especially if you already have an old laptop or PC that is available and can do the job and more!
Now, if I need such a controller again, especially in such a large network, the most likely thing is that I will get a cheap refurbished laptop or PC and install not only the free software controller there, but also take advantage of a thousand and two other useful features in a network (File server, DLNA, torrent, IP CCTV, etc.).
The 5 stars are for my own purchase when it cost 45 euros, if I were to rate it today with the price of 110€, I would probably give it one or two stars.

  • Although grandstream provides the corresponding web interface for free, the device itself is amazing. If you get all the omada dedicated, it has complete control!

This controller is very good for a small professional network. For slightly higher demands, there is the OC300, which simply supports more devices (see data sheets). There is also a software-only controller for installation on a server. The Omada platform provides many central management capabilities (locally and/or via the cloud) for network, security, traffic, and usage, as well as monitoring statistics, events, alerts, etc. Please note that only the v1 OC200 is available. Those who mention V2, V3, V4 are referring to the same hardware, but with newer software. The upgrade is very easy to do. I have installed three EAP245 access points, one TL-R605 router/firewall, and one TL-SG2210P switch, and it provides me with very good central monitoring. However, pay attention to the hardware versions! The newer versions of the platform do not support older hardware versions. For example, EAP245v1 is not supported, only v3. Otherwise, excellent capabilities for its price.
