Description

The ASTIR X Winery is located on the outskirts of the city of Kalamata, the capital of Messenia in the Peloponnese. The Peloponnese is considered the birthplace of Greek wine, as it has been a land full of vineyards since ancient times. Today, it is the largest viticultural region in Greece.

From selected vineyard sites of this blessed land, the Winery obtains the precious fruit for its wines. Its specialized viticultural team is the most vital part of Astir X, collaborating with 88 local grape growers who monitor and care for the cultivation of a total of 800 acres of vineyards.

The selection of the vineyards was made with the aim of optimal performance of each variety in the microclimate of the region. The Winery has indoor facilities of 2,500 sq.m. and houses the presses, winemakers, and stainless steel refrigerated tanks with a capacity of 3,000 tons.

Wines suitable for aging are stored in the Winery's cellar, inside French oak barrels of 220 liters. The bottles mature and rest in the cellar before traveling to the wine lovers who will enjoy them.
