  • When you need to take more than one measurement, guys, to get an average in the middle of the night, for me the product is useless.
I saw good reviews but having tried various ones, I was hesitant and I should have listened to myself in the end.
Bad purchase, at every angle it gives a different reading, you can't just estimate if the child has a fever, and with a large deviation from one measurement to another. (i.e. I measure 36.3 -> 36.9 -> 37.5 -> 37.3, you tell me now which one you would keep)
Quality Braun construction, maybe I'm making a mistake but I'm stopping my search for a reliable infrared thermometer :D

Everything is fine so far. You need to take 2-3 measurements to be sure, since the first measurement is almost always somewhat lower than the others. Like most ear thermometers, it shows a temperature 0.3-0.5 higher than the armpit.

The unique digital thermometer that measures accurately with minimal deviation from the analog. This is due to a patent from Braun in the head where the sensor is located. However, get the 6525 which has a light because measuring at night is difficult as you can't see the ear properly. I've also noticed that it shows more accurately when you hold it at the entrance of the ear and not deep inside.

The thermometer is very good, accurate measurements, good construction, fast, however 4* for something I didn't know and I'm writing this for those interested: to operate it has filters, hygiene cap ear, which are single-use, their cost is high, about 0.17/unit with a quick search, meaning if you are typical in usage and change them, it has a high cost of use.

The first digital thermometer we found that gives relatively reliable measurements. It is fast, does not disturb the child (you can measure even while they are asleep), provides measurements that are not surprising and very close to or even the same as the old analog thermometer. Our pediatrician scoffs at it, of course, but I think he is exaggerating. We have tried and discarded 5 simple digital ones costing 10-15 EUR before settling on this one.
