It is 1959, mid-summer. In an HLM residence in Bobigny, on the outskirts of Paris, two comic book writers wipe the sweat from their foreheads. Not just because of the summer heat: the two friends are trying to come up with an idea for a character. They need to be ready for the first issue of Pilote, a new magazine for young people that will be released in three months. The screenwriter is named René Goscinny. His friend, the illustrator, is Albert Uderzo. They had thought about adapting the Roman de Renard, but someone else had thought of that before them. So, they search, but find nothing... Until Goscinny has the idea of a small, bickering, mustached Gaul. Bango: Asterix is born. And, along with him, a fantastic publishing success as well as a social phenomenon.
