The Salomon Shelter is a winter shoe for use both in the mountains and in the city. It is waterproof thanks to Climashield technology and is designed with a sporty yet elegant style.
They are completely waterproof, they don't slip, they are very warm.
Unfortunately, the size did not fit me at all and I realized it too late (after I had already worn them on a hike). I wear 40.5 and I got the 40 2/3 because of the comments about the "regular fit." While I didn't notice it at first, in the end they squeeze my toes at the front.

I bought them for ascents in snowy mountain conditions. After studying all the comments mentioning a narrow fit, I went to the store and asked to try the 40 2/3 (my size is 40) and it was too big for me. So I went with my usual size and on the first walks in the city it seemed extremely comfortable.
On the first ascent I used it, after a 2-hour hike with a good uphill slope, I had a problem with my Achilles and got blisters. I'm giving it some time and will come back for a final assessment, to see if I really should have gone for a bigger size or if it was just a matter of my foot adapting.
In terms of durability, they are perfect, I literally plunged everywhere - snow, mud, deep puddles - and nothing got inside.
EDIT one month later: after a second ascent, I faced the same comfort issues. I emailed the store where I got them, and they exchanged them for me (I got the 40 2/3).
Yesterday I climbed 700m and descended the same with my new pair without any problem at all.
EDIT September 25: about 6km hike on an extremely steep slope and not easy terrain, no stability or slipping problems, the shoe sticks to the rock. On the descent, my toes hurt terribly!! I will try to put some protection in the front and will report back..

EDIT ένα μήνα μετά: μετά από δεύτερη ανάβαση, αντιμετώπισα τα ίδια προβλήματα ως προς την άνεση. Έστειλα mail στο κατάστημα απ όπου τα πήρα, κ μου τα άλλαξαν (πηρα το 40 2/3)
Χθες ανέβηκα 700 κ κατέβηκα άλλα τόσα με το καινούριο μου ζευγάρι χωρίς κανένα απολύτως πρόβλημα.
EDIT Σεπτέμβριος 25: πορεία περίπου 6χλμ σε εξαιρετικά απότομη κλίση και καθόλου εύκολο έδαφος, κανένα πρόβλημα σταθερότητας ή γλιστρηματος, το παπούτσι κολλάει στο βράχο. Στην κατάβαση πόνεσαν τρομερά τα δάχτυλα των ποδιών μου!! Θα δοκιμάσω να βάλω κάποιο προστατευτικό μπροστά κ θα επανέλθω..
I have had it for 2-3 years now..very durable boot, keeps the foot warm, extremely waterproof and comfortable with a sturdy sole..everything is good except it slips a lot even on wet asphalt and especially on stones in the mountains..you can't say it's High Traction Contagrip and slip on everything if they fix that it will be one of the best.

I recently bought the shoe in my size, it is comfortable and warm. If someone wants to wear it with thick socks, definitely go for a larger size.
