The Lamtech LAM021486 webcam records video at a resolution of 1280 × 720 and features a CMOS sensor, built-in image compression, and 24-bit true-colour mode. It supports manual focus from 5 cm to infinity, automatic brightness adjustment, and automatic colour compensation. It connects via USB 2.0 and works without requiring driver installation.
The built-in microphone reduces noise, and the webcam supports NetMeeting and other video conferencing applications. It can be mounted on a monitor or placed on a desktop.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Users generally appreciate the good image quality and built-in LEDs, which help in low light; several consider it good value for money. It is described as suitable for video calls, work, and online learning. However, many note that the microphone is very weak or doesn’t work, and also mention a short cable and difficulty mounting it.
Although it has good image quality and also has LEDs for more brightness, it has some negatives that make it difficult to use. It doesn't stay on a laptop at all. With the slightest movement, it falls. The thick and stiff cable, if moved, shakes the camera as well. The brightness adjustment wheel for the LEDs is very close to the camera, so it has to be behind the screen. Normally, it should be towards the USB connection so that the brightness can be easily adjusted. The microphone works fine, but what good is that? Only for a desktop computer and with a workaround to stabilize it well on the screen. Fortunately, I got it with a gift coupon for 8 euros from Sklavenitis, so the loss is minimal.
You can't be heard at all. You have to shout to be heard at a low volume. Short cable. I have the tower under the desk and right above the screen it doesn't reach to plug in, only to touch the base of the screen.
Wasted money even for this low price.
The microphone is non-existent, you are never heard, you have to shout and stick it on the camera.
Image quality is mediocre to terrible
It has a good camera but the microphone on the computer doesn't work even though it is for a computer. Do not buy it.
Ideal camera for teleconferencing now that we are working from home. Good resolution and sound. Plus, the LEDs that help in low lighting.
One star and that's being generous!!! It is constructed so poorly that in order to produce any sound, you have to stick it in your mouth where no one can see you! Within a meter, it doesn't produce any sound at all! Don't waste twenty bucks on it.
It's not worth its money, if it goes down then yes. But during the period of the coronavirus, you can't find anything better. As for the features, very low resolution, but the worst is the microphone, you have to be close and speak loudly for them to hear you.
The main disadvantage is that you have to have the camera 2 meters away from you to appear in the frame. Low resolution. Lost 13 €.
The camera didn't work, the microphone, and so I returned it.
Fortunately, the return process went smoothly.
It has a very short cable, a separate plug for the microphone (which is not very convenient). Also, its microphone is weak.
I have bought two of the same, they have good display even in low lighting thanks to the LEDs, the microphone captures well, it does not distort the voice. Currently, my children are using them for remote learning and we are satisfied. In the second one, the microphone was not working and it was immediately replaced by the supplier (Plaisio), now everything works properly. There is no software to make changes. It is only plug and play, you connect it and it works.
