This particular ELM 327 diagnostic tool is an excellent low-cost solution for monitoring engine parameters in real-time (Real-time Data) via Bluetooth protocol. Connectivity with Android devices is immediate and the data transmission speed through the CAN-BUS channel is satisfactory for amateur as well as semi-professional use.

However, it presents certain technical limitations regarding the ability to clear fault codes (DTC Reset) on specific models and manufacturers. For example, in a test with a BMW 316 Compact, the device provided access to data reading but failed to clear certain error indications on the ECU, possibly due to security protocols or manufacturer-specific codes that require specialized software or hardware. Overall, it is a very useful tool for diagnosis and monitoring, but its compatibility for error clearing is not universal.

Tested on four different cars. Qashqai j10 1.6 dci, Qashqai j11 1.5 dci, Fiesta mk7 1.4 and Fiesta mk7 1.4 tdci.
It is definitely worth it. With the right app and a little research on the internet, you can find faults and be better informed if you need to go to a workshop.

Works perfectly on a 2006 Mercedes w203. Obviously, it does not support Mercedes' proprietary codes like specialized readers do, but it easily reads all the rest. I kept it plugged in for many days to monitor some live stats I wanted, and it worked without any issues. It saved me in the middle of nowhere when the check engine light came on and my car started acting up; I easily diagnosed the problem, and after seeing that it wasn't urgent, I continued to my destination.

On a 2001 Peugeot 106 model, I couldn't get it to work based on other reviews and searching the internet. It may not support this particular model so I have no opinion on the product.

I downloaded 10 different apps until I found one that was sufficiently compatible with the gadget but also with my car's ECU (Corsa E). in opel astra j 2012 the ECU locked but with a restart it came back without damage. However, it does not work. It worked on an old peugeot 206 2006

this particular one works only on cars after 2008-9, if you want it for an older car find version v1.5, on a '99 polo version v1.5 worked

I got it just to do a service reset on my 2018 Dacia Logan MCV. It connected with code 1234 and after several attempts (but that's okay) it did the reset with the Dacia service reset app (Android only). Just for that..5 stars so that our little cars are fine and the gadget never has to see any faults!!

Incredibly cheap diagnostic tool to the point that I thought it would be useless... and yet it does its job, it found out which injector had a problem and I changed it myself. I use it with the Torque app.

To erase the stupidity of the lambda sensor due to poor quality gasoline without burdening your mechanic, it's just fine. I have no opinion beyond that

The app provides various information, some of which are okay and others not...
I wanted to read error codes and clear them along with the warning light... And it worked...
In essence, the fault codes were due to a bad cable connection and not real...
However, I was puzzled during the tests that it shows catalyst and lambda fail while it indicates the lambda voltage, okay....
The pairing usually happens through the app and not from the device... If it asks for a code, I think it worked for me with 1234... I don't remember well...
Also, keep in mind that the app may ask for information about the car such as weight, etc... I got that from Carfolio...

On a Seat Ibiza 6K 1.4 from the year 2000, it connects only with the reader but does not support reading the brain. I used 4 different applications, the barcode on the package to download the application is a virus, it is not funny at all, I accessed through the http protocol since the link it directs you to is only for http, and it requires registration with a phone number and code, I did it and it throws me a message 'your phone is at risk'. Really, ridiculous devices. Disappointment and wasted money.

I use it on a Renault Megane 3 from '11 DCI and it found all the problems that the mechanic found at the garage. The correct app is called Car Scanner from the play store and has a check engine icon in blue and white colors. You follow the steps as soon as you download it, you plug the diagnostic tool into the car, turn on the car's battery (you don't start the car) with the key and start the search through the app for problems.

If I hadn't had it with me, I would have called roadside assistance since three different warning lights came on, and it turned out to just be a little dirt on a sensor

If it doesn't support your car model, at least it reads the check engine codes and gives you an idea of the problem.
In a Citroen xsara, it read a code for the catalytic converter.
Easy to connect with the car scanner app.
This specific car does not support all the functions of the app.

The known problem P0420 (catalyst).
I changed the lambda sensor, installed a spacer, cleaned the throttle body, added LPG cleaner, adjusted the mixture countless times but the light comes on and off whenever and for as long as it wants.
Eventually I got used to it since the car runs properly and its emissions are perfect.
The only issue is that if it gives me another problem, I won't notice it because diagnostics are only done at each service.
I got this little thing for 5 euros and downloaded the Car Scanner app (free) on my phone and connected it. (Bluetooth code 1234)
Although my car is not on the app's list, I found another one with the same engine (fiat 500) and in half a minute I read and cleared the fault.
I do the same every 10-15 days and I have peace of mind.

Purchased for MX5 NBfl and works as it should with the phone. It also has live for what is happening with the vehicle during its operation. It finds faults and has a link for you to see what each one is and of course deletes them.
