One of the most legendary vineyards in Napa Valley, the Eisele Vineyard, has undergone significant change in winemaking. Winemaking is now in the hands of 41-year-old winemaker Hélène Mingot. For this vintage, Hélène used only the most rocky plots planted in shallow soils near Simmons Creek.
For the production of this iconic wine, three-quarters of the 38-acre Eisele Vineyard is dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon and its accompanying varieties, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The resulting wine is an intense expression of the Terroir of the Eisele Vineyard, with characteristic flavors of cassis, blackberry, cedar, and chocolate, offering a lingering mineral finish.
