The Alexakis winery is a family business with a history that dates back to the 1970s. The company is run by Stelios Alexakis, founder and oenologist-chemical engineer, his wife Sophia, and their sons Lazaros and Apostolos, graduated oenologists from the University of Florence and Fresno in California, respectively.

Lazaros and Apostolos have taken over the production control and the design of the future development of the winery, ensuring that the heritage of the first generation remains intact. They maintain long-standing collaborations with almost all the grape growers of the island and are fully informed about the peculiarities of the Cretan vineyard, including the varieties, soil, and microclimate.

This experience allows them to choose vineyards with the ideal terroir for each variety they vinify.
