July 2018. Michalis Krokos is trying to publish the pulp novel he wrote for Documenta in Athens, while simultaneously struggling to survive the scorching summer of overtourism and Airbnb. An old friend, a magazine editor, sends him to Ikaria, from where Krokos has distant roots, to write a light story about surfers and beach bars.
There, the author will confront all the tribes of the Greek summer, fall in love with the addictive photograph of an unknown woman at the guesthouse where he is staying, and become an eyewitness to her inexplicable drowning. Soon, he will discover that he is on the island for a specific reason and will venture into the dense forests of the inland, obsessively searching for the conclusion of yet another story that he should not write.
