Description

The EasyDriver is a simple stepper motor driver board compatible with any device that can issue a digital signal from 0 to 5V (or 0 to 3.3V if you solder the SJ2 closed on the EasyDriver).

It requires a power supply from 7V to 30V to drive the motor and can power any voltage of stepper motor. The EasyDriver has a voltage regulator for the digital interface that can be set to 5V or 3.3V.

Connect a 4-wire stepper motor and a microcontroller, and you have precise control over the motor!

The EasyDriver controls both bipolar and motors wired as bipolar. This means 4, 6, or 8-wire stepper motors.

This version (v4.4) fixes the printing error in the min/max setting. The MS1 and MS2 pins are available to select different microstep resolutions: full, half, quarter, and eighth step (eighth is the default).

  • Current regulation control from 150mA/phase to 750mA/phase
  • Power supply range from 7V to 30V. Higher voltage, more torque at high speeds

This is the newest version of the EasyDriver V4 designed by Brian Schmalz. It offers much more flexibility and control over the stepper motor compared to older versions.

The microstep resolution select pins (MS1 and MS2) of the A3967 are brought out to allow for microstepping resolution control.

Note: Do not connect or disconnect a motor while the driver is powered. This will cause permanent damage to the IC A3967.
