The "Package" is the true -the theatrical- experience of a eunuch traveling on a train, carrying as luggage a jar containing his genitals and a book titled The Share of Angels. In the same compartment, there is a woman who brings with her two boxes: a small one filled with melomakarona and a larger one overflowing with an old wedding dress.
The only explanation she gives to the narrator-travel companion is that she is being sent by her family as a "package" to marry a man she does not know. During the journey, she is tempted to "cheat" on him with the eunuch, unaware that he is a being who appears one way but is another...
In "The Share of Angels", the being narrating the story is a girl characterized by a volatile-descending tendency. Thus, she realizes the transcendence within herself. She voluntarily often plays the role of the guardian angel but also of the psychopomp. With this dual identity, she experiences the rare occasion of partaking in a drunkenness of life and death.
Where the distillers -in the process of boiling the "wine-spirit"- allow a part of the essence of their distillates to seep into the atmosphere. It is their offering, the surplus of their soul, to their guardian angel and an attempt to intoxicate their psychopomp lurking nearby.
It is called the share of angels -their acquired right- which unites the earthly with the celestial, where humans and angels become a company and, thus, the light that falls upon them and refracts their reflections abolishes gravity.
