I appreciate that due to the not very clear instructions, it should be put after the first pre-rinse (you stop the operation) otherwise it will drive it away with the first rinse aid. H Miele has two cleaners, one with a white cap and another with a red cap. The white one is for cleaning bacteria, etc., and the red one is for removing salts, fats, etc. Both can be used for dishwashers and washing machines.
It is single-use, you empty it completely and set it to the maximum temperature without dismantling or shortening. Miele recommends using the white one twice a year or depending on how dirty the clothes/dishes are (and the red one two to four times depending on the water hardness).
It is expensive but it always cleans the drum and removes black mold from the rubber on the door.
