    It gives dense wines with rich aromas of red and black fruits (blackberry, plum) and characteristic notes of black pepper, tobacco, or even leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with intense tannins and good structure.

    Mavrotragano

    Rare red variety from Santorini. It produces wines with deep color, intense tannins, high acidity, and concentrated aromas of black fruits, spices, and minerality.

    Xinomavro

    It produces wines with high acidity, strong tannins, and complex aromas that evolve with aging: from red fruits (cranberry, strawberry) and flowers, to tomato, olive, spices, and leather. It is often compared to Nebbiolo.

Aiōra was the ancient Greek festival dedicated to the God Dionysus and the celebration of the revelation of the annual wine. It was part of the three-day festival of Anthesteria.

It consists of a blend of three grape varieties:

  • Mavrotragano from the Aegean Islands (30%)
  • Xinomavro from Northern Greece (30%)
  • Syrah (40%)

It is an intensely fruity wine with a very balanced taste. High aromatic intensity on the nose, with aromas of sour cherry, cherry jam, blackberry, plum, and butter, while in the background, there are hints of smoked paprika and fresh earth from the amphora.

In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, with balanced acidity and silky tannins. It is juicy, with cherry, raspberry, sour cherry, butter caramel, pink pepper, and vanilla filling the palate, while subtle notes of fresh earth and ripe cassis linger underneath.

    Like the more expensive ones in the "Moscopolis" series, Aiora is also a favorite. I think it is the best red in this category. I highly recommend it.

    Very interesting combination of Syrah / Mavrotragano / Xinomavro. Fruity and lively. Excellent value for money. In this category, I only put it together with Avantis' Syrah.
