In Archlinux, I had to install rtl8821cu-dkms from AUR in order for it to work because for some reason the driver is not included in the latest kernel.
Σε Archlinux για να δουλέψει χρειάστηκε να εγκαταστήσω το rtl8821cu-dkms από AUR γιατί για κάποιον λόγο ο driver δεν έχει συμπεριληφθεί στον τελευταίο kernel.
It was installed automatically, without any issues, on Windows 11 (64-bit). My connection is 24Mbps and with this specific "dongle" and at a distance of about 7-8 meters from the router, without any walls in between, it reaches the same speed as a wired (LAN) connection, without any interruptions or disconnections. At a distance of about 10-12 meters, but with a wall in between, it remained connected to the network, but the speed dropped to about 1/3 (compared to connecting with my mobile phone from the same spot, which achieves the expected speed, about three times faster). However, this doesn't bother me much because I always use my laptop in close proximity to the router (at most 5-6 meters away without any walls in between). But if your requirements (in terms of "range") are higher, you should probably look for another, possibly more expensive, "dongle". Also, according to the technical specifications of this specific Wi-Fi adapter, it will comfortably support VDSL connection (if the providers ever bring it to my area, in the center of Athens). As for durability, I don't know, time will tell... My previous Wi-Fi adapters didn't fare very well, as the one integrated into my laptop (Acer) lasted only 7-8 months - of course, I download large amounts of data and use Wi-Fi extensively every day - while the next "dongle" I used (a cheap one, worth 4-5 euros) lasted 1.5 years. After that, sometimes they worked fine, but usually after a while, their speed dropped significantly. Initially, I contacted my internet provider to complain, thinking there was a problem with the line or the router, but eventually I realized that the problem was with the "dongles", as when I tried to connect with a wired internet connection, the (expected) speed was immediately restored. I certainly hope that this "dongle" will last longer than the other two.
Update 12/3/22: Minus 3 stars because it stopped working in just 4 months, while my previous dongle (an anonymous one from the same series, costing less than half the price) worked for 1.5 years!

Η σύνδεση μου είναι 24αρα και το laptop μου, με το συγκεκριμένο "στικάκι" και σε απόσταση περίπου 7-8 μέτρων από το ρούτερ, χωρίς τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται, πιάνει (χωρίς σκαμπανεβάσματα κι αποσυνδέσεις) όση ακριβώς ταχύτητα πιάνει και με ενσύρματη (Lan) σύνδεση. Σε απόσταση περίπου 10-12 μέτρων αλλά με τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται, παρέμεινε συνδεμένος στο δίκτυο, όμως η ταχύτητα του έπεσε περίπου στο 1/3 (από το ίδιο σημείο με το κινητό τηλέφωνο συνδέομαι στο δίκτυο με την αναμενόμενη ταχύτητα, δηλαδή περίπου την τριπλάσια). Αυτό δεν με ενοχλεί ιδιαίτερα όμως, γιατί η χρήση του laptop γίνεται πάντοτε σε κοντινή απόσταση από το ρούτερ (5-6 μέτρα το πολύ και χωρίς τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται). I am very satisfied with this product. At 5hz, connected to vdsl 50, I consistently get download speeds of 47-50 daily. However, its range is small, so I do not recommend it for someone who is far away from the wifi. Compared to a previous similar stick at 2ghz, I had speeds of 30-40. It does not disconnect at all, and I can tell from my daily university classes and various online games.

Βέβαια η εμβέλεια του είναι μικρή οπότε δεν το συνιστώ σε κάποιον που βρίσκεται σε μεγάλη απόσταση από το wifi. Σε σχέση με ένα προηγούμενο παρόμοιο στικάκι στα 2ghz είχα από 30-40. Δεν αποσυνδέεται καθόλου και το καταλαβαίνω από τα καθημερινά μαθήματα πανεπιστημίου που παρακολουθώ αλλά και σε διάφορα online games .

It works perfectly with both wi-fi bands of my router (2.4G + 5G), I didn't notice any disconnects, it's definitely worth the money.

The speed that the laptop reached with its own adapter was the same as with this one. Basically, wasted money.

In Archlinux, I had to install rtl8821cu-dkms from AUR in order for it to work because for some reason the driver is not included in the latest kernel.
Σε Archlinux για να δουλέψει χρειάστηκε να εγκαταστήσω το rtl8821cu-dkms από AUR γιατί για κάποιον λόγο ο driver δεν έχει συμπεριληφθεί στον τελευταίο kernel.
It was installed automatically, without any issues, on Windows 11 (64-bit). My connection is 24Mbps and with this specific "dongle" and at a distance of about 7-8 meters from the router, without any walls in between, it reaches the same speed as a wired (LAN) connection, without any interruptions or disconnections. At a distance of about 10-12 meters, but with a wall in between, it remained connected to the network, but the speed dropped to about 1/3 (compared to connecting with my mobile phone from the same spot, which achieves the expected speed, about three times faster). However, this doesn't bother me much because I always use my laptop in close proximity to the router (at most 5-6 meters away without any walls in between). But if your requirements (in terms of "range") are higher, you should probably look for another, possibly more expensive, "dongle". Also, according to the technical specifications of this specific Wi-Fi adapter, it will comfortably support VDSL connection (if the providers ever bring it to my area, in the center of Athens). As for durability, I don't know, time will tell... My previous Wi-Fi adapters didn't fare very well, as the one integrated into my laptop (Acer) lasted only 7-8 months - of course, I download large amounts of data and use Wi-Fi extensively every day - while the next "dongle" I used (a cheap one, worth 4-5 euros) lasted 1.5 years. After that, sometimes they worked fine, but usually after a while, their speed dropped significantly. Initially, I contacted my internet provider to complain, thinking there was a problem with the line or the router, but eventually I realized that the problem was with the "dongles", as when I tried to connect with a wired internet connection, the (expected) speed was immediately restored. I certainly hope that this "dongle" will last longer than the other two.
Update 12/3/22: Minus 3 stars because it stopped working in just 4 months, while my previous dongle (an anonymous one from the same series, costing less than half the price) worked for 1.5 years!
Εγκαταστάθηκε αυτόματα, χωρίς το παραμικρό πρόβλημα, σε Windows 11 (64bit). Η σύνδεση μου είναι 24αρα και το laptop μου, με το συγκεκριμένο "στικάκι" και σε απόσταση περίπου 7-8 μέτρων από το ρούτερ, χωρίς τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται, πιάνει (χωρίς σκαμπανεβάσματα κι αποσυνδέσεις) όση ακριβώς ταχύτητα πιάνει και με ενσύρματη (Lan) σύνδεση. Σε απόσταση περίπου 10-12 μέτρων αλλά με τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται, παρέμεινε συνδεμένος στο δίκτυο, όμως η ταχύτητα του έπεσε περίπου στο 1/3 (από το ίδιο σημείο με το κινητό τηλέφωνο συνδέομαι στο δίκτυο με την αναμενόμενη ταχύτητα, δηλαδή περίπου την τριπλάσια). Αυτό δεν με ενοχλεί ιδιαίτερα όμως, γιατί η χρήση του laptop γίνεται πάντοτε σε κοντινή απόσταση από το ρούτερ (5-6 μέτρα το πολύ και χωρίς τοίχο να παρεμβάλλεται). Αν όμως οι απαιτήσεις σας (στο ζήτημα της "εμβέλειας") είναι αυξημένες, πρέπει μάλλον να δείτε κάποιο άλλο -και πιθανότατα αρκετά ακριβότερο- "στικάκι". Επίσης, σύμφωνα με τις τεχνικές προδιαγραφές του συγκεκριμένου Wi-fi adaptor, θα με καλύψει άνετα και με VDSL σύνδεση (αν δεήσουν ποτέ οι πάροχοι να την φέρουν και στην περιοχή μου, στο κέντρο της Αθήνας). Από αντοχή στο χρόνο δεν ξέρω, θα δείξει... Τα προηγούμενα wifi adaptor μου πάντως δεν τα πήγαν και πολύ καλά, αφού αυτό που ήταν ενσωματωμένο στο laptop μου (Αccer) άντεξε 7-8 μήνες -βέβαια "κατεβάζω" πολύ μεγάλες ποσότητες δεδομένων και γίνεται καθημερινά πολύωρη χρήση του WiFi- ενώ το επόμενο "στικάκι" που χρησιμοποίησα (κάποιο "της σειράς", αξιας 4-5 ευρώ) αντεξε 1,5 χρόνο. Μετά, κάποιες φορές λειτουργούσαν κανονικά, συνήθως όμως μετά από λίγη ώρα η ταχύτητα τους έπεφτε κατακόρυφα. Αρχικά απευθύνθηκα στον παροχό ίντερνετ για να διαμαρτυρηθώ, νομίζοντας οτι υπήρχε πρόβλημα με τη γραμμή ή το ρούτερ, τελικά όμως διαπίστωσα οτι το πρόβλημα ήταν στα "στικάκια" , καθόσον όταν δοκίμασα να συνδεθώ ενσύρματα στο ίντερνετ διαπίστωσα οτι η (αναμενόμενη) ταχύτητα αποκαταστάθηκε αμέσως. Ελπίζω ασφαλώς αυτό το "στικάκι" να κρατήσει περισσότερο από τα άλλα δύο.
Update 12/3/22: Μείον 3* γιατί σε 4 μόλις μήνες έπαψε να λειτουργεί, όταν το προηγούμενο στικάκι μου (ένα ανώνυμο της "σειράς" με λιγότερο από τα μισά χρήματα) λειτούργησε 1,5 χρόνο!
