Description

Description

The Doulton Ultracarb® SI water filter is a combination of a ceramic filter and a solid activated carbon filter that combats salts in the water, reducing them.

Externally, it consists of ceramic material with a permeability of 0.5 μm that has been impregnated with silver, and internally of solid activated carbon.

Filtration Stages

It is a filter where the water is filtered in 4 stages:

  • 1st Stage:

Initially, the water enters the outer surface of the filter, which is made of ceramic material, and there all particles with a diameter greater than 0.5 μm are filtered. Thus, it also acts as a pre-filter. For the best performance of the filter, it is recommended to clean its outer surface by washing it.

  • 2nd Stage:

The silver infusion that has been applied to the outer ceramic surface of the filter helps combat the growth of bacteria.

  • 3rd Stage:

Next, the water, free from bacteria, enters the interior of the filter, into the solid activated carbon. There, chlorine, organic and volatile compounds, unpleasant taste and odor, etc., are filtered from the water.

  • 4th Stage:

The resin present in the filter, thanks to ion exchange, removes heavy metals such as lead from the water.

Installation Instructions

Note: Before installation, carefully read the manufacturer's instruction leaflet.

While we have had the countertop filter for almost 5 years and have been quite satisfied, with the latest replacement cartridge, which I bought in August, it does not produce as good and clean water as the previous cartridges, especially if the water stays in the glass for a few hours. It started to "get dirty" earlier, whereas with the previous cartridges, which I usually changed every 8 months, this one I predict will need to be changed in 6 months, and the filter is cleaned about every 40 days. Obviously, there are other factors affecting the filter and its lifespan. We'll see with the next one how long it will last.

I have been using it for years and it makes a difference in the quality of the water.. The difference in water quality is relative depending on the water it has to filter. Compared to others, I consider it much better.

I immediately noticed a difference in taste. Softer. At 10 months I opened it and cleaned it because it had accumulated quite a bit of <dirt> on the outside. Maybe I should have done it even earlier. This is the second one I ordered and I will replace it in a year

Guys, the filter has the following pros: when the procedure described in the brochure is followed, the water quality is truly excellent; the taste and appearance of the water are advertisement-worthy. Now for the cons: first, the lifespan of the filter is 6 months, and I kindly ask Skroutz to change this because it is inaccurate, as the brochure states and it is mentioned on the official site. Also, the body of the filter is made of stainless steel (you can check if it is magnetic), but the faucet of the device (I have a countertop model) is completely fake and besides the salts it collects, it also gathers rust and something like slime, which essentially nullifies all the effort for clean water if you don't change it every 3-4 months.

It says what it promises. The case is very high quality and the filter. It reduces salts as it says because the water in the Evros is terrible with salts, odors, and taste, but the filter eliminates them all provided you have a filter for sediments. In the main supply, at least that's how I have it. It helps your coffee to have its own taste and not from the water. With a couple of glasses, you quench your thirst, so it has the necessary elements for water. The replacement ultracarb si, if you shake it, you will hear small stones inside, but it is not broken, that's how the blue or the resin does for salts. Finally, the only negative thing I saw is that you have to let the water run through the filter for 2-3 seconds and then put the glass because otherwise, if you put it directly, it will leave a metallic taste in your palate, while if you let it run a little, it won't leave it like that at least that's how I feel

Your filter provides water equivalent to bottled water, it is the first replacement filter, I have had it for about 4 months and the water is crystal clear!!!
Very easy connection, with relatively good and fast flow. The filter lasts from 8 to 12 months and needs cleaning every 2-3 months with a sponge, it shows less salts than the original doulton filter, so it is slightly better than the pre-installed one in the mechanism.

I notice a difference in the taste of the water. You just have to let it run for at least 20 minutes on the first day and then it is suitable for use.
