I do not understand how it is possible for a product to be legally available on the market that does not have a 'made in...' indication and does not include a leaflet/brochure of specifications/instructions (even the countertop device from Eiger does not include any relevant installation leaflet).
As for the filtering capability: I bought three filters from the same company a) the ceramic 0.3μm, b) the Activated Carbon from Coconut Shell 0.5μm, and c) the Ultrafiltration - U.F Membrane 0.01 micron.
I was surprised that when I replaced them, I could not find any trace of salts, particles, etc. on them. We're talking about the already 'hard' water in Lake Evia, especially after the 2021 wildfires. While in the metal filter inside the faucet spout I find some strange 'sand grains' of red and black color, the filters are spotless!
As for the ceramic one, I broke it to see if it had retained anything inside the material. Absolutely nothing, pure white!
I showed it to the company manager (at their headquarters in Ag. Ioannis Rentis) and told him where and how I use it.
The answer:
"Well, you should have told me. For your case, you need the double countertop filter." (...)
Δεν καταλαβαίνω πως γίνεται να κυκλοφορεί νόμιμα στην αγορά προϊόν που δεν έχει ένδειξη "made in..." και δεν διαθέτει έντυπο/φυλλάδιο χαρακτηριστικών /οδηγιών (ακόμη και η συσκευή άνω πάγκου της Eiger δεν περιέχει κανένα σχετικό φυλλάδιο εγκατάστασης).
Για την δε ικανότητα φιλτραρίσματος : αγόρασα τρία φίλτρα από την ίδια εταιρεία α) το κεραμικό 0,3μm, β) το Ενεργού Άνθρακα από Κέλυφος Καρύδας 0,5μm και γ) το Υπερδιήθησης - Μεμβράνη U.F 0,01 micron.
Μου έκανε αντύπωση ότι όταν τα αντικαθιστούσα δεν εύρισκα πάνω σε αυτά κανένα ίχνος αλάτων, σωματιδίων κτλ. Μιλάμε για το ούτως ή άλλως "σκληρό" νερό στη Λίμνη Ευβοίας , και μάλιστα μετά τις πυρκαγιές του 2021. Ενώ στο μεταλλικό φίλτρο μέσα στο ρουξούνι της βρύσης βρίσκω κατι περιέργους "κόκκους άμμου" κόκκινου και μαύρου χρώματος, τα φίλτρα είναι πεντακάθαρα !
Το δε κεραμικό το έσπασα για να δω μήπως κράτησε κάτι , εντός του υλικού. Απολύτως τίποτα , πάλευκο !
Το έδειξα στον υπεύθυνο της εταιρείας (στην έδρα τους στον Αγ. Ιωάννη Ρέντη) και του είπα που και πως το χρησιμοποιώ.
Η απάντηση:
"Ε, έπρεπε να μου το είχες πει. Για την περίπτωση σου χρειάζεται το διπλό φίλτρο πάγκου " (...)
To be honest, I didn't particularly like it, I previously had the Altas which is also cheaper and I didn't see any difference with this one. I have the impression that it reduces the water flow (pressure) even more. As for the taste of the water, it's just okay.
Να πω την αλήθεια δεν μου άρεσε ιδιαίτερα, είχα πριν το Altas το οποίο είναι και φθηνότερο και δεν είδα καμία διαφορά με αυτό. Έχω την εντύπωση ότι μειώνει περισσότερο την ροή(πίεση) του νερού. Σε ότι αφορά την γεύση του νερού, απλά είναι εντάξει.
It greatly improves the taste of the water and has a very strong flow! Changing the filter was a bit difficult because I had tightened it quite a lot (the previous one from the same company was leaking and needed extra tightening). Overall, I am satisfied and for changing it once a year, it's a good price since we don't have very "hard" water in the area where I live. 4 stars because I have tried better filters with a different mechanism, but they had a very slow flow and triple the price.
Βελτιώνει πολύ την γεύση στο νερό και έχει πολύ δυνατή ροή!
Η αλλαγή σττο φίλτρο επειδή το έιχα σφίξει(το προηγούμενο της ίδιας εταιρίας έχανε και ήθελε παραπάνω σφήξιμο) αρκετά ήταν λιγο δύσκολη. Γενικά είμαι ικανοποιημένος και για μια φορά το χρόνο που το αλλάζω είναι καλή τιμή καθώς δεν έχουμε πολύ "δύσκολο" νερό στη περιοχή που μένω. 4 αστέρια καθώς έχω δοκιμάσει και καλύτερα φίλτρα με άλλο μηχανισμό αλλά είχαν πολύ αργή ροή και τριπλάσια τιμή.
The instructions said to let it run for 10 minutes before drinking. It produced black water at first but then it was crystal clear, odorless, without metallic tastes or chlorine. A definite upgrade after the cheap eiger 5μm that came with the filter.
Στις οδηγίες έλεγε να το αφήσω να τρέχει για 10 λεπτά πριν το πιω. Έβγαλε μαύρο νερό στην αρχή αλλά μετά ήταν πεντακάθαρο άοσμο χωρίς μεταλλικές γεύσεις η χλώριο. Σαφής αναβάθμιση μετά το φτηνό eiger 5μm που είχε έρθει μαζί με το φίλτρο .
I have no experience with filters, this is the second one I use since I now live in a place where the water is terrible, with frequent interruptions and often with dirt or odor, etc.
The first one, which was a branded one with good reviews, etc., helped with cooking and coffee but not with a nice taste and had a charcoal aftertaste + it took a week for the taste to settle somewhat.
This one is incredibly superior, it works from the start and the quality of the water it produces is amazing!!!
No strange taste, no odors... nothing... like spring water
+better water flow
If it lasts as long as it should, I don't think I'll experiment with other filters

Το πρωτο που ηταν επωνυμο με καλες αξιολογησεις κτλ βοηθησε σε μαγειρεμα και καφε αλλα οχι με ωραια γευση και μια επιγευση ανθρακα +χρειαστηκε μια βδομαδα για να στρωσει καπως η γευση
Αυτο ειναι απιστευτα ανωτερο,απο την αρχη δουλευει και η ποιοτητα του νερου που βγαζει ειναι καταπληκτικη!!!

nice filter but every time I change the replacement I think about it. very difficult. you need strong arms to tighten it otherwise it leaks from the side

User of Alarco AlfaUV for years. I decided to try something else since €58 every six months is a lot for a replacement. After reading the reviews, I decided to try Eiger. It seems to be good, but it has nothing to do with the Alarco one. The water has no taste, but for me it is saltier than the AlfaUV I had and of lower quality. Also, since I installed it, whenever I drink, I feel like my stomach gets upset after a while and I think it’s not for me (I let it run for 15 minutes before using it for the first time). If anything changes, I’ll update.

Update 06/11/25: Okay, I’m adding one more star since I should have cleaned the whole package thoroughly before first use. After I did that, there’s no problem with taste or stomach upset. However, it’s still a bit lower than the AlfaUV I had before, even though it was 1μm compared to 0.5μm for this one.
Χρήστης Alarco AlfaUV εδώ και χρόνια. Είπα να δοκιμάσω κάτι άλλο καθώς 58€ το εξάμηνο είναι πολλά για ανταλλακτικό. Μετά τις κριτικές είπα να δοκιμάσω της Eiger. Καλό φαίνεται να είναι, όμως δεν έχει σχέση με αυτό της Alarco. Το νερό δεν έχει γεύση, αλλά για μένα είναι πιο γλυφό από το AlfaUV που είχα και κατώτερης ποιότητας. Επίσης από τότε που το έβαλα όποτε πίνω νοιώθω σα να με ανακατεύει το στομάχι μετά από κάποια ώρα και νομίζω δε κάνει για μένα (το είχα 15 λεπτά να τρέχει πριν το χρησιμοποιήσω πρώτη φορά). Αν κάτι αλλάξει θα επανέλθω.

Update 06/11/25: Εντάξει ανεβάζω ένα αστεράκι καθώς έπρεπε πριν την πρώτη φορά να καθαρίσω καλά όλη τη συσκευασία. Αφού το έκανα δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα ούτε γεύσης, ούτε θέμα ανακατέματος. Παρόλα αυτά είναι ένα τσικ πιο κάτω από το AlfaUV που είχα παλαιότερα κι ας ήταν 1μm αντί 0,5μm που είναι αυτό.
I bought a cheaper branded Ma.....x from another company. I bought this specific one again and now the water doesn't smell like chlorine. I am very satisfied and no more tests from other companies. Thank you

Ξανά αγόρασα το συγκεκριμένο και πλέον το νερό δεν μου μυρίζει χλώριο.

Just installed, it looks very good (on par with the American one, which is quite more expensive). Now it will show how long it will last, the other one easily lasted 1 year of use without compromising the quality of the water!
Μόλις τοποθετήθηκε, φαίνεται πάρα πολύ καλό (ισάξιο με το αμερικάνικο, που είναι αρκετά ακριβότερο). Τώρα θα δείξει πόσο θα κρατήσει, το άλλο μου έβγαζε άνετα 1 χρόνο χρήσης χωρίς να αλλοιωθεί η ποιότητα του νερού!
Reading the good reviews and taking advantage of the price drop, I ordered (perhaps mistakenly) 3 pieces that I received yesterday. I haven't tried them yet because I just changed the filters (Pentek CBR2-10) last week, but I noticed a few things that seemed strange to me.
1. The country of manufacture is not mentioned anywhere.
2. No matter how hard I tried to locate the EAN Code (0737214798439) in the known databases, I couldn't find it.
3. The product code listed on the filter's label "EG-ACTO-2510-05" is nowhere to be found no matter where I searched, not even on Eiger's website.
4. There is NO mention of NSF on the label, neither a logo nor anything.
5. The only reference to a certification body is the statement that the company is certified according to ISO9001.
6. The label in the product image is different from the label on the filter I received, and there are no logos for Water Quality Association, BPA Free, etc.
7. The label says "Silver Coconut Block" but on the product page on Eiger's website, the word silver is not mentioned anywhere. This is in contrast to other competing products, which if they contain silver for antimicrobial action, they mention it everywhere in capital letters.
8. I couldn't find a sheet with the technical specifications of the filter on Eiger's page. (I'm not saying on the manufacturer's page because I don't know where or by whom it was manufactured). The only technical data mentioned on Eiger's page are:

Diameter: 2.5" (inch)
Height: 10" (inch)
Micron: 0.5μm

Διαβάζοντας τις καλές κριτικές και με την ευκαιρία της πτώσης της τιμής του, παρήγγειλα (ίσως κακώς) 3 τεμάχια που παρέλαβα εχθές. Δεν τα δοκίμασα ακόμη, γιατί μόλις την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα είχα αλλάξει φίλτρα (Pentek CBR2-10), αλλά πρόσεξα μερικά πράγματα που μου φάνηκαν περίεργα.
1. Δεν αναγράφεται πουθενά η χώρα κατασκευής.
2. Όσο κι αν προσπάθησα να εντοπίσω τον EAN Code (0737214798439) στις γνωστές βάσεις δεδομένων, δεν τα κατάφερα.
3. Ο κωδικός προϊόντος που αναγράφεται στην ετικέτα του φίλτρου "EG-ACTO-2510-05" δεν υπάρχει ΠΟΥΘΕΝΑ όπου κι αν έψαξα, ούτε και στο site της Eiger.

6. Η ετικέτα στην εικόνα του προϊόντος είναι διαφορετική από την ετικέτα του φίλτρου που παρέλαβα, ούτε υπάρχουν τα λογότυπα Water Quality Association, BPA Free κλπ.
7. Στην ετικέτα γράφει "Silver Coconut Block" αλλά στη σελίδα του προϊόντος στο site της Eiger, δεν αναφέρεται πουθενά η λέξη silver. Αυτό σε αντίθεση με άλλα ανταγωνιστικά προϊόντα, που αν περιέχουν άργυρο για μικροβιοκτόνο δράση, το γράφουν παντού και με κεφαλαία γράμματα.
8. Δεν κατάφερα να βρω φύλλο με τα τεχνικά δεδομένα του φίλτρου στη σελίδα της Eiger. (Δεν λέω στη σελίδα του κατασκευαστή, γιατί δεν γνωρίζω ούτε που, ούτε από ποιόν κατασκευάσθηκε). Τα μόνα τεχνικά δεδομένα που αναφέρει η σελίδα της Eiger είναι:

Good at the price of 19 euros when I found it on offer, at 30 I consider it expensive. It has a good taste, it has compact carbon and it is certified. An MSF, it is made from coconut carbon, it is for 20,000 liters and has a lifespan of one year. Before, I used that highly advertised one with the mountain of the 12 gods!!;; which used to produce some foam and was priced at €55 three years ago + €5 shipping, and it was worth it, but nothing to do with this one here in terms of taste, a huge difference. Καλό στην τιμή των 19 ευρώ όταν το βρήκε προσφορά στα 30 το θεωρώ ακριβό έχει καλή γεύση έχει συμπαγή άνθρακα και έχει πιστοποίηση ένα msf είναι από άνθρακα καρύδας είναι για 20.000 λίτρα και ένα χρόνο διάρκεια ζωής πριν χρησιμοποιούσα αυτό το πολυδιαθμισμένο με το βουνό των 12 θεών!!;;το οποίο μου έβγαζε κάτι αφρούς και ήταν στην τιμή των 55€ πριν 3 χρόνια + 5 μεταφορικά και να αξίζει αλλά καμία σχέση με αυτό εδώ στη γεύση τεράστια διαφορά έχω ανεβάσει βίντεο και φωτογραφία με το υλικό που φαίνεται ο άνθρακας δίχτυ που έχει απ έξω και το άλλο το φιλμ ενδιάμεσα
I have been using the filter for over three years with changes every six months. What bothers me the most is the chlorine in Attica. It's very good as I empty the water from the bottled ones when I use them and I put it through the filter
Χρησιμοποιώ το φίλτρο πάνω από τρία χρονια με αλλαγές ανά έξι μήνες ποιο πολύ με ενοχλεί το χλώριο στην Αττική . Πολύ καλό αφού άδειαζω το νερό από τα εμφιαλωμένα όταν τα χρησιμοποιώ και βάζω από το φίλτρο
1) Before this, I had the Eiger Hollow Fiber with 0.1 micron (UF). However, I must admit that I liked the water that came out with the Hollow Fiber (UF) more. My wife, well, everyone has their own preferences.. she likes the one with active carbon and Nanosilver more!! One costs 39 euros and the other 28 euros.
2) It produces nice water, but it has a slightly harder aftertaste compared to the UF membrane.
3) I contacted Eiger via email, and they responded immediately because there was an issue with the NSF certification. Even though they claimed to have it, they didn't!
In their email, sent 20 days ago, they wrote that the NSF certification is on its way and they have submitted all the relevant samples, expecting the certification any day now.
4) I kept the UF filter for 11 months. I cut it in half to see the details! It was almost pure white!! Which means that the water in Athens, Koukaki, is good.
5) Overall, it does what it promises.. However, I must mention here that even with both replacement filters, I always distilled the water at 30% of the pressure! I bought 6 glass bottles with a capacity of two liters each and I fill them at a slow speed, as we mentioned. This way, it filters much better...
6) Since I tried filtered water, even though I used to make fun of them before, I have never drunk unfiltered water again because there is a big difference!!!

1)Πρίν απ' αυτό είχα τό Hollow Fiber τής Eiger με 0.1 micron( UF). Ομολογώ oμως ότι μού άρεσε περισσότερο τό νερό πού έβγαινε με το Hollow Fiber(UF). Ή γυναίκα μου, γούστα ειν' αυτά.., της αρέσει περισσότερο αυτό μέ τό active carbon κ Nanosliver!! Τό ένα έχει 39ε το άλλο 28ε..
2)Ωραίο νερό βγάζει κάτ εμέ, αλλά λίγο πιό σκληρό στην επιγευση από τό UF membrane.
3)Επικοινώνησα με email στην Eiger ή οποία μού απάντησε αμέσως διότι υπηρχε πρόβλημα με την πιστοποίηση Nsf. Ενώ ελεγε ότι έχει, δέν είχε!!
Στο mail της, πρό 20 ημερών, μού γράφει ότι ή Πιστοποίηση NSF είναι καθοδόν κι έχουν υποβληθεί όλα τα σχετικά δείγματα κι αναμένουν απο μέρα σέ μέρα,την πιστοποίηση.
4)Τό φίλτρο UF, τό κράτησα 11 μήνες. Τό εκοψα στη μεση να δώ λεπτομέρειες! Ηταν σχεδόν κατάλευκο!! Πού σημαίνει ότι τό νερό τής Αθήνας, Κουκάκι, είναι καλό.
5)Σε γενικές γραμμές, κάνει αυτό πού υπόσχεται.. Όμως να πούμε εδώ ότι καί με τά 2 ανταλλακτικά φίλτρα, απέσταζα τό νερό στο 30% τής πίεσης πάντα! Έχω αγοράσει 6 φιάλες γυάλινες δίλιτρες κ τίς γεμιζω σέ αργή ταχύτητα, όπως είπαμε. Έτσι φιλτράρει πολύ καλύτερα...
6) Από τότε πού δοκίμασα νερό φίλτρου,ενω πρίν τούς κορόιδευα, δέν εχω ξαναπιεί ποτέ νερό αφιλτράριστο γιατί έχει μεγάλη διαφορά!!!

Να πω την αλήθεια δεν μου άρεσε ιδιαίτερα, είχα πριν το Altas το οποίο είναι και φθηνότερο και δεν είδα καμία διαφορά με αυτό. Έχω την εντύπωση ότι μειώνει περισσότερο την ροή(πίεση) του νερού. Σε ότι αφορά την γεύση του νερού, απλά είναι εντάξει.
It greatly improves the taste of the water and has a very strong flow! Changing the filter was a bit difficult because I had tightened it quite a lot (the previous one from the same company was leaking and needed extra tightening). Overall, I am satisfied and for changing it once a year, it's a good price since we don't have very "hard" water in the area where I live. 4 stars because I have tried better filters with a different mechanism, but they had a very slow flow and triple the price.

The instructions said to let it run for 10 minutes before drinking. It produced black water at first but then it was crystal clear, odorless, without metallic tastes or chlorine. A definite upgrade after the cheap eiger 5μm that came with the filter.
Στις οδηγίες έλεγε να το αφήσω να τρέχει για 10 λεπτά πριν το πιω. Έβγαλε μαύρο νερό στην αρχή αλλά μετά ήταν πεντακάθαρο άοσμο χωρίς μεταλλικές γεύσεις η χλώριο. Σαφής αναβάθμιση μετά το φτηνό eiger 5μm που είχε έρθει μαζί με το φίλτρο .
I have no experience with filters, this is the second one I use since I now live in a place where the water is terrible, with frequent interruptions and often with dirt or odor, etc.
The first one, which was a branded one with good reviews, etc., helped with cooking and coffee but not with a nice taste and had a charcoal aftertaste + it took a week for the taste to settle somewhat.
This one is incredibly superior, it works from the start and the quality of the water it produces is amazing!!!
No strange taste, no odors... nothing... like spring water
+better water flow
If it lasts as long as it should, I don't think I'll experiment with other filters

I do not understand how it is possible for a product to be legally available on the market that does not have a 'made in...' indication and does not include a leaflet/brochure of specifications/instructions (even the countertop device from Eiger does not include any relevant installation leaflet).
As for the filtering capability: I bought three filters from the same company a) the ceramic 0.3μm, b) the Activated Carbon from Coconut Shell 0.5μm, and c) the Ultrafiltration - U.F Membrane 0.01 micron.
I was surprised that when I replaced them, I could not find any trace of salts, particles, etc. on them. We're talking about the already 'hard' water in Lake Evia, especially after the 2021 wildfires. While in the metal filter inside the faucet spout I find some strange 'sand grains' of red and black color, the filters are spotless!
As for the ceramic one, I broke it to see if it had retained anything inside the material. Absolutely nothing, pure white!
I showed it to the company manager (at their headquarters in Ag. Ioannis Rentis) and told him where and how I use it.
The answer:
"Well, you should have told me. For your case, you need the double countertop filter." (...)
Δεν καταλαβαίνω πως γίνεται να κυκλοφορεί νόμιμα στην αγορά προϊόν που δεν έχει ένδειξη "made in..." και δεν διαθέτει έντυπο/φυλλάδιο χαρακτηριστικών /οδηγιών (ακόμη και η συσκευή άνω πάγκου της Eiger δεν περιέχει κανένα σχετικό φυλλάδιο εγκατάστασης).
Για την δε ικανότητα φιλτραρίσματος : αγόρασα τρία φίλτρα από την ίδια εταιρεία α) το κεραμικό 0,3μm, β) το Ενεργού Άνθρακα από Κέλυφος Καρύδας 0,5μm και γ) το Υπερδιήθησης - Μεμβράνη U.F 0,01 micron.
Μου έκανε αντύπωση ότι όταν τα αντικαθιστούσα δεν εύρισκα πάνω σε αυτά κανένα ίχνος αλάτων, σωματιδίων κτλ. Μιλάμε για το ούτως ή άλλως "σκληρό" νερό στη Λίμνη Ευβοίας , και μάλιστα μετά τις πυρκαγιές του 2021. Ενώ στο μεταλλικό φίλτρο μέσα στο ρουξούνι της βρύσης βρίσκω κατι περιέργους "κόκκους άμμου" κόκκινου και μαύρου χρώματος, τα φίλτρα είναι πεντακάθαρα !
Το δε κεραμικό το έσπασα για να δω μήπως κράτησε κάτι , εντός του υλικού. Απολύτως τίποτα , πάλευκο !
Το έδειξα στον υπεύθυνο της εταιρείας (στην έδρα τους στον Αγ. Ιωάννη Ρέντη) και του είπα που και πως το χρησιμοποιώ.
Η απάντηση:
"Ε, έπρεπε να μου το είχες πει. Για την περίπτωση σου χρειάζεται το διπλό φίλτρο πάγκου " (...)
To be honest, I didn't particularly like it, I previously had the Altas which is also cheaper and I didn't see any difference with this one. I have the impression that it reduces the water flow (pressure) even more. As for the taste of the water, it's just okay.

nice filter but every time I change the replacement I think about it. very difficult. you need strong arms to tighten it otherwise it leaks from the side

User of Alarco AlfaUV for years. I decided to try something else since €58 every six months is a lot for a replacement. After reading the reviews, I decided to try Eiger. It seems to be good, but it has nothing to do with the Alarco one. The water has no taste, but for me it is saltier than the AlfaUV I had and of lower quality. Also, since I installed it, whenever I drink, I feel like my stomach gets upset after a while and I think it’s not for me (I let it run for 15 minutes before using it for the first time). If anything changes, I’ll update.

Update 06/11/25: Okay, I’m adding one more star since I should have cleaned the whole package thoroughly before first use. After I did that, there’s no problem with taste or stomach upset. However, it’s still a bit lower than the AlfaUV I had before, even though it was 1μm compared to 0.5μm for this one.
Χρήστης Alarco AlfaUV εδώ και χρόνια. Είπα να δοκιμάσω κάτι άλλο καθώς 58€ το εξάμηνο είναι πολλά για ανταλλακτικό. Μετά τις κριτικές είπα να δοκιμάσω της Eiger. Καλό φαίνεται να είναι, όμως δεν έχει σχέση με αυτό της Alarco. Το νερό δεν έχει γεύση, αλλά για μένα είναι πιο γλυφό από το AlfaUV που είχα και κατώτερης ποιότητας. Επίσης από τότε που το έβαλα όποτε πίνω νοιώθω σα να με ανακατεύει το στομάχι μετά από κάποια ώρα και νομίζω δε κάνει για μένα (το είχα 15 λεπτά να τρέχει πριν το χρησιμοποιήσω πρώτη φορά). Αν κάτι αλλάξει θα επανέλθω.

Update 06/11/25: Εντάξει ανεβάζω ένα αστεράκι καθώς έπρεπε πριν την πρώτη φορά να καθαρίσω καλά όλη τη συσκευασία. Αφού το έκανα δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα ούτε γεύσης, ούτε θέμα ανακατέματος. Παρόλα αυτά είναι ένα τσικ πιο κάτω από το AlfaUV που είχα παλαιότερα κι ας ήταν 1μm αντί 0,5μm που είναι αυτό.
I bought a cheaper branded Ma.....x from another company. I bought this specific one again and now the water doesn't smell like chlorine. I am very satisfied and no more tests from other companies. Thank you

Ξανά αγόρασα το συγκεκριμένο και πλέον το νερό δεν μου μυρίζει χλώριο.

Just installed, it looks very good (on par with the American one, which is quite more expensive). Now it will show how long it will last, the other one easily lasted 1 year of use without compromising the quality of the water!
Μόλις τοποθετήθηκε, φαίνεται πάρα πολύ καλό (ισάξιο με το αμερικάνικο, που είναι αρκετά ακριβότερο). Τώρα θα δείξει πόσο θα κρατήσει, το άλλο μου έβγαζε άνετα 1 χρόνο χρήσης χωρίς να αλλοιωθεί η ποιότητα του νερού!
Reading the good reviews and taking advantage of the price drop, I ordered (perhaps mistakenly) 3 pieces that I received yesterday. I haven't tried them yet because I just changed the filters (Pentek CBR2-10) last week, but I noticed a few things that seemed strange to me.
1. The country of manufacture is not mentioned anywhere.
2. No matter how hard I tried to locate the EAN Code (0737214798439) in the known databases, I couldn't find it.
3. The product code listed on the filter's label "EG-ACTO-2510-05" is nowhere to be found no matter where I searched, not even on Eiger's website.
4. There is NO mention of NSF on the label, neither a logo nor anything.
5. The only reference to a certification body is the statement that the company is certified according to ISO9001.
6. The label in the product image is different from the label on the filter I received, and there are no logos for Water Quality Association, BPA Free, etc.
7. The label says "Silver Coconut Block" but on the product page on Eiger's website, the word silver is not mentioned anywhere. This is in contrast to other competing products, which if they contain silver for antimicrobial action, they mention it everywhere in capital letters.
8. I couldn't find a sheet with the technical specifications of the filter on Eiger's page. (I'm not saying on the manufacturer's page because I don't know where or by whom it was manufactured). The only technical data mentioned on Eiger's page are:

Diameter: 2.5" (inch)
Height: 10" (inch)
Micron: 0.5μm
Filtration stages: One (1)
Water filter type: Carbon filter

1. Δεν αναγράφεται πουθενά η χώρα κατασκευής.

6. Η ετικέτα στην εικόνα του προϊόντος είναι διαφορετική από την ετικέτα του φίλτρου που παρέλαβα, ούτε υπάρχουν τα λογότυπα Water Quality Association, BPA Free κλπ.
7. Στην ετικέτα γράφει "Silver Coconut Block" αλλά στη σελίδα του προϊόντος στο site της Eiger, δεν αναφέρεται πουθενά η λέξη silver. Αυτό σε αντίθεση με άλλα ανταγωνιστικά προϊόντα, που αν περιέχουν άργυρο για μικροβιοκτόνο δράση, το γράφουν παντού και με κεφαλαία γράμματα.
8. Δεν κατάφερα να βρω φύλλο με τα τεχνικά δεδομένα του φίλτρου στη σελίδα της Eiger. (Δεν λέω στη σελίδα του κατασκευαστή, γιατί δεν γνωρίζω ούτε που, ούτε από ποιόν κατασκευάσθηκε). Τα μόνα τεχνικά δεδομένα που αναφέρει η σελίδα της Eiger είναι:

Good at the price of 19 euros when I found it on offer, at 30 I consider it expensive. It has a good taste, it has compact carbon and it is certified. An MSF, it is made from coconut carbon, it is for 20,000 liters and has a lifespan of one year. Before, I used that highly advertised one with the mountain of the 12 gods!!;; which used to produce some foam and was priced at €55 three years ago + €5 shipping, and it was worth it, but nothing to do with this one here in terms of taste, a huge difference. Καλό στην τιμή των 19 ευρώ όταν το βρήκε προσφορά στα 30 το θεωρώ ακριβό έχει καλή γεύση έχει συμπαγή άνθρακα και έχει πιστοποίηση ένα msf είναι από άνθρακα καρύδας είναι για 20.000 λίτρα και ένα χρόνο διάρκεια ζωής πριν χρησιμοποιούσα αυτό το πολυδιαθμισμένο με το βουνό των 12 θεών!!;;το οποίο μου έβγαζε κάτι αφρούς και ήταν στην τιμή των 55€ πριν 3 χρόνια + 5 μεταφορικά και να αξίζει αλλά καμία σχέση με αυτό εδώ στη γεύση τεράστια διαφορά έχω ανεβάσει βίντεο και φωτογραφία με το υλικό που φαίνεται ο άνθρακας δίχτυ που έχει απ έξω και το άλλο το φιλμ ενδιάμεσα
I have been using the filter for over three years with changes every six months. What bothers me the most is the chlorine in Attica. It's very good as I empty the water from the bottled ones when I use them and I put it through the filter
Χρησιμοποιώ το φίλτρο πάνω από τρία χρονια με αλλαγές ανά έξι μήνες ποιο πολύ με ενοχλεί το χλώριο στην Αττική . Πολύ καλό αφού άδειαζω το νερό από τα εμφιαλωμένα όταν τα χρησιμοποιώ και βάζω από το φίλτρο
1) Before this, I had the Eiger Hollow Fiber with 0.1 micron (UF). However, I must admit that I liked the water that came out with the Hollow Fiber (UF) more. My wife, well, everyone has their own preferences.. she likes the one with active carbon and Nanosilver more!! One costs 39 euros and the other 28 euros.
2) It produces nice water, but it has a slightly harder aftertaste compared to the UF membrane.
3) I contacted Eiger via email, and they responded immediately because there was an issue with the NSF certification. Even though they claimed to have it, they didn't!
In their email, sent 20 days ago, they wrote that the NSF certification is on its way and they have submitted all the relevant samples, expecting the certification any day now.
4) I kept the UF filter for 11 months. I cut it in half to see the details! It was almost pure white!! Which means that the water in Athens, Koukaki, is good.
5) Overall, it does what it promises.. However, I must mention here that even with both replacement filters, I always distilled the water at 30% of the pressure! I bought 6 glass bottles with a capacity of two liters each and I fill them at a slow speed, as we mentioned. This way, it filters much better...
6) Since I tried filtered water, even though I used to make fun of them before, I have never drunk unfiltered water again because there is a big difference!!!

1)Πρίν απ' αυτό είχα τό Hollow Fiber τής Eiger με 0.1 micron( UF). Ομολογώ oμως ότι μού άρεσε περισσότερο τό νερό πού έβγαινε με το Hollow Fiber(UF). Ή γυναίκα μου, γούστα ειν' αυτά.., της αρέσει περισσότερο αυτό μέ τό active carbon κ Nanosliver!! Τό ένα έχει 39ε το άλλο 28ε..
2)Ωραίο νερό βγάζει κάτ εμέ, αλλά λίγο πιό σκληρό στην επιγευση από τό UF membrane.
3)Επικοινώνησα με email στην Eiger ή οποία μού απάντησε αμέσως διότι υπηρχε πρόβλημα με την πιστοποίηση Nsf. Ενώ ελεγε ότι έχει, δέν είχε!!
Στο mail της, πρό 20 ημερών, μού γράφει ότι ή Πιστοποίηση NSF είναι καθοδόν κι έχουν υποβληθεί όλα τα σχετικά δείγματα κι αναμένουν απο μέρα σέ μέρα,την πιστοποίηση.
4)Τό φίλτρο UF, τό κράτησα 11 μήνες. Τό εκοψα στη μεση να δώ λεπτομέρειες! Ηταν σχεδόν κατάλευκο!! Πού σημαίνει ότι τό νερό τής Αθήνας, Κουκάκι, είναι καλό.
5)Σε γενικές γραμμές, κάνει αυτό πού υπόσχεται.. Όμως να πούμε εδώ ότι καί με τά 2 ανταλλακτικά φίλτρα, απέσταζα τό νερό στο 30% τής πίεσης πάντα! Έχω αγοράσει 6 φιάλες γυάλινες δίλιτρες κ τίς γεμιζω σέ αργή ταχύτητα, όπως είπαμε. Έτσι φιλτράρει πολύ καλύτερα...
6) Από τότε πού δοκίμασα νερό φίλτρου,ενω πρίν τούς κορόιδευα, δέν εχω ξαναπιεί ποτέ νερό αφιλτράριστο γιατί έχει μεγάλη διαφορά!!!

I do not understand how it is possible for a product to be legally available on the market that does not have a 'made in...' indication and does not include a leaflet/brochure of specifications/instructions (even the countertop device from Eiger does not include any relevant installation leaflet).
As for the filtering capability: I bought three filters from the same company a) the ceramic 0.3μm, b) the Activated Carbon from Coconut Shell 0.5μm, and c) the Ultrafiltration - U.F Membrane 0.01 micron.
I was surprised that when I replaced them, I could not find any trace of salts, particles, etc. on them. We're talking about the already 'hard' water in Lake Evia, especially after the 2021 wildfires. While in the metal filter inside the faucet spout I find some strange 'sand grains' of red and black color, the filters are spotless!
As for the ceramic one, I broke it to see if it had retained anything inside the material. Absolutely nothing, pure white!
I showed it to the company manager (at their headquarters in Ag. Ioannis Rentis) and told him where and how I use it.
The answer:
"Well, you should have told me. For your case, you need the double countertop filter." (...)
Δεν καταλαβαίνω πως γίνεται να κυκλοφορεί νόμιμα στην αγορά προϊόν που δεν έχει ένδειξη "made in..." και δεν διαθέτει έντυπο/φυλλάδιο χαρακτηριστικών /οδηγιών (ακόμη και η συσκευή άνω πάγκου της Eiger δεν περιέχει κανένα σχετικό φυλλάδιο εγκατάστασης).
Για την δε ικανότητα φιλτραρίσματος : αγόρασα τρία φίλτρα από την ίδια εταιρεία α) το κεραμικό 0,3μm, β) το Ενεργού Άνθρακα από Κέλυφος Καρύδας 0,5μm και γ) το Υπερδιήθησης - Μεμβράνη U.F 0,01 micron.
Μου έκανε αντύπωση ότι όταν τα αντικαθιστούσα δεν εύρισκα πάνω σε αυτά κανένα ίχνος αλάτων, σωματιδίων κτλ. Μιλάμε για το ούτως ή άλλως "σκληρό" νερό στη Λίμνη Ευβοίας , και μάλιστα μετά τις πυρκαγιές του 2021. Ενώ στο μεταλλικό φίλτρο μέσα στο ρουξούνι της βρύσης βρίσκω κατι περιέργους "κόκκους άμμου" κόκκινου και μαύρου χρώματος, τα φίλτρα είναι πεντακάθαρα !
Το δε κεραμικό το έσπασα για να δω μήπως κράτησε κάτι , εντός του υλικού. Απολύτως τίποτα , πάλευκο !
Το έδειξα στον υπεύθυνο της εταιρείας (στην έδρα τους στον Αγ. Ιωάννη Ρέντη) και του είπα που και πως το χρησιμοποιώ.
Η απάντηση:
"Ε, έπρεπε να μου το είχες πει. Για την περίπτωση σου χρειάζεται το διπλό φίλτρο πάγκου " (...)
To be honest, I didn't particularly like it, I previously had the Altas which is also cheaper and I didn't see any difference with this one. I have the impression that it reduces the water flow (pressure) even more. As for the taste of the water, it's just okay.
Να πω την αλήθεια δεν μου άρεσε ιδιαίτερα, είχα πριν το Altas το οποίο είναι και φθηνότερο και δεν είδα καμία διαφορά με αυτό. Έχω την εντύπωση ότι μειώνει περισσότερο την ροή(πίεση) του νερού. Σε ότι αφορά την γεύση του νερού, απλά είναι εντάξει.
It greatly improves the taste of the water and has a very strong flow! Changing the filter was a bit difficult because I had tightened it quite a lot (the previous one from the same company was leaking and needed extra tightening). Overall, I am satisfied and for changing it once a year, it's a good price since we don't have very "hard" water in the area where I live. 4 stars because I have tried better filters with a different mechanism, but they had a very slow flow and triple the price.
Βελτιώνει πολύ την γεύση στο νερό και έχει πολύ δυνατή ροή!
Η αλλαγή σττο φίλτρο επειδή το έιχα σφίξει(το προηγούμενο της ίδιας εταιρίας έχανε και ήθελε παραπάνω σφήξιμο) αρκετά ήταν λιγο δύσκολη. Γενικά είμαι ικανοποιημένος και για μια φορά το χρόνο που το αλλάζω είναι καλή τιμή καθώς δεν έχουμε πολύ "δύσκολο" νερό στη περιοχή που μένω. 4 αστέρια καθώς έχω δοκιμάσει και καλύτερα φίλτρα με άλλο μηχανισμό αλλά είχαν πολύ αργή ροή και τριπλάσια τιμή.
The instructions said to let it run for 10 minutes before drinking. It produced black water at first but then it was crystal clear, odorless, without metallic tastes or chlorine. A definite upgrade after the cheap eiger 5μm that came with the filter.
Στις οδηγίες έλεγε να το αφήσω να τρέχει για 10 λεπτά πριν το πιω. Έβγαλε μαύρο νερό στην αρχή αλλά μετά ήταν πεντακάθαρο άοσμο χωρίς μεταλλικές γεύσεις η χλώριο. Σαφής αναβάθμιση μετά το φτηνό eiger 5μm που είχε έρθει μαζί με το φίλτρο .
I have no experience with filters, this is the second one I use since I now live in a place where the water is terrible, with frequent interruptions and often with dirt or odor, etc.
The first one, which was a branded one with good reviews, etc., helped with cooking and coffee but not with a nice taste and had a charcoal aftertaste + it took a week for the taste to settle somewhat.
This one is incredibly superior, it works from the start and the quality of the water it produces is amazing!!!
No strange taste, no odors... nothing... like spring water
+better water flow
If it lasts as long as it should, I don't think I'll experiment with other filters
Δεν εχω εμπειρια σε φιλτρα,ειναι το δευτερο που χρησιμοποιω αφου μενω πλεον σε μερος που το νερο ειναι χαλια,με συχνες διακοπες και πολλες φορες με χωματα ή οσμη κτλ..
Το πρωτο που ηταν επωνυμο με καλες αξιολογησεις κτλ βοηθησε σε μαγειρεμα και καφε αλλα οχι με ωραια γευση και μια επιγευση ανθρακα +χρειαστηκε μια βδομαδα για να στρωσει καπως η γευση
Αυτο ειναι απιστευτα ανωτερο,απο την αρχη δουλευει και η ποιοτητα του νερου που βγαζει ειναι καταπληκτικη!!!
Ουτε γευση περιεργη,ουτε οσμες..τπτ..σαν νερο πηγης
+καλυτερη ροη νερου
Αν κρατησει και οσο χρειαζεται δεν νομιζω οτι θα πειραματιστω με αλλα φιλτρα
