Andre Ostertag created one of the most exciting estates in Alsace, cultivating all his vineyards biodynamically. He ages Riesling and Pinot Gris in small barrels, while the labels of his wines are adorned with paintings by his wife. FRONHOLZ is an original terroir with a strong personality. In cool years, Ostertag leads his plants to full aroma ripeness, often with high sugar concentrations, much earlier than his neighbors, making them harvest sooner. In these years, the Fronholz wine is called ‘a l’ Orient d’ Eden’.
