    The shell screws on permanently with 4 small screws, making it difficult to secure.
    The base should detach so that you can screw it securely and the transparent shell should screw on top.

    To change the batteries, you have to detach it, not just unscrew it.
    If you try to connect a power supply so that you don't need batteries, the LED does not have a corresponding resistor, resulting in it burning out immediately. So only with batteries (because batteries have higher internal resistance compared to a power supply - other fake cameras can be connected to a permanent power supply to avoid needing batteries, three and a little bit).
