Description & Specifications

It is August 1959. In an HLM apartment in Bobigny, on the outskirts of Paris, two comic book writers are sweating. Not only because of the summer heat: the two friends are sweating to come up with a character idea. They must be ready for the first issue of Pilote, a new magazine for young people that will be launched in three months. The screenwriter's name is René Goscinny. His friend, the illustrator, is Albert Uderzo. They had thought about adapting The Tale of Reynard the Fox, but someone else had the idea before them. So, they search. But they find nothing... Until Goscinny comes up with the idea of a small, stubborn, mustachioed Gaul. Of course: Asterix is born. And with him, a fantastic publishing success, doubling as a social phenomenon.
