The book presents the basic concepts of financial accounting and its practical application, according to the current Greek institutional framework. Specifically, it addresses the analysis, measurement, and recording of economic transactions of business units, with the aim of compiling financial statements and reports, such as the Balance Sheet and the Income Statement, providing information for making sound decisions.
The content is divided into three parts. The first part presents the basic concepts and theoretical principles of financial accounting, the second examines financial accounting in the context of Greek Accounting Standards, while the third refers to International Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards. Accounting entries are presented using the chart of accounts of the Greek General Accounting Plan and the proposed chart of accounts of the Greek Accounting Standards.
At the end of each chapter, there are questions and exercises for self-assessment, with answers, a glossary of new terms from the chapter, and related bibliography.
