On my hair, blonde with bleach, I didn't see a difference in shine, but it did leave it quite soft. It needs a generous amount on the ends on damp and not wet hair and to be left on for 5 minutes for sure. It provides good hydration to the ends. The smell is wonderful and long-lasting.
