Lens with amazing sharpness, fast and silent focus, and excellent color reproduction. If the transition is made from a lens kit with apertures of 3.5-5.6, the difference in quality in the photos is significant. Personal opinion is that it is better than the 35mm lens since I have tried both. Its only drawback is the somewhat narrow frame, especially on crop cameras, but you quickly forget about it and adapt!

Μοναδικό του μειονέκτημα το κάπως στενό κάδρο ειδικά σε crop μηχανές το οποιο όμως το ξεχνάς γρήγορα και προσαρμόζεσαι!
I use it on Nikon D700, I remembered the times of film when we had an SLR and a 50mm 2.8 and that was it. Lightweight, good build quality, very good sharpness and contrast, ideal for all-around use. The only thing that made a negative impression on me is that it has minimal but existent barrel distortion, something I didn't expect from a prime lens. But it's not something tragic and can be easily corrected in post-processing with the application of the corresponding lens profile.
Compared to the 50mm 1.8D that I had previously on a DX body but tried again before settling on the AF-S, I didn't see a substantial difference (the 1.8D doesn't have any distortion at all!). However, it is quieter, marginally faster in focusing. If you don't mind the noise of the motor and have a camera with built-in autofocus motor, you can blindly go for the 1.8D. Same image quality, and you save 100€. That's why I deducted one star from the quality/price ratio. But even at its price (~250€), you get a very good "glass".
Τον χρησιμοποιώ σε Nikon D700, θυμήθηκα εποχές φιλμ που είχαμε μια SLR και έναν 50άρη 2.8 και αυτό ήταν. Ελαφρύς, καλή ποιότητα κατασκευής, πολύ καλή οξύτητα και αντίθεση, ιδανικός για all around χρήση. Το μόνο που μου έκανε αρνητική εντύπωση είναι ότι παρουσιάζει ελάχιστη αλλά υπαρκτή βαρελοειδή παραμόρφωση κάτι που δεν περίμενα από prime φακό. Αλλά δεν είναι κάτι το τραγικό και διορθώνεται εύκολα στο Post-processing με την εφαρμογή του αντίστοιχου προφίλ φακού.
Σε σχέση με τον 50άρη 1.8D που είχα παλαιότερα σε DX σώμα αλλά που δοκίμασα πάλι πριν καταλήξω στον ΑF-s, δεν είδα ουσιαστική διαφορά (εκείνος δεν έχει μάλιστα καθόλου παραμόρφωση!) Είναι όμως πιο ήσυχος, οριακά και πιο γρήγορος, στην εστίαση. Αν δε σας ενοχλεί ο θόρυβος του μοτέρ και έχετε μηχανή με ενσωματωμένο μοτέρ εστίασης, με κλειστά μάτια να πάρετε τον 1.8D. Ίδια ποιότητα φωτογραφίας, γλιτώνετε και 100€. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που αφαίρεσα ένα αστέρι από την σχέση ποιότητας/τιμής. Αλλά και στην τιμή που έχει (~250€) παίρνετε πολύ καλό "γυαλί".
I haven't used it much. Only around 500 photos. But its sharpness is very good. And if you can shoot at f/2.8 or 3.5, it's perfect.
Keep in mind that it suffers from coma at the edges with wide apertures. So if you're shooting stars or small lights, it would be good to close the aperture a bit.
But overall, if you're not constantly zooming in the photos, you won't notice much.
[EDIT] One and a half years and 50,000 photos later, I have to say that it's a very good lens, especially for its price. For anyone who wants to add a prime lens to their collection but doesn't have 800-1000€ for a Sigma f/1.4 art, this is a very good lens for any use.

Δεν του έχω κάνει και πολύ χρήση. Ίσα με 500 φωτογραφίες. Αλλά η οξύτητα του είναι πολύ καλή. Και αν μπορείς να πέσεις σε f/2.8 ή 3.5 είναι τέλειος.
Υπόψιν ότι πάσχει από κόμα στις άκρες σε ανοιχτά διαφράγματα. Οπότε αν βγάζετε αστέρια, ή μικρά φωτάκια, καλό θα ήταν πάλι να κλείσετε λίγο f.
Αλλά γενικά, αν δεν ζουμάρεις συνέχεια στις φωτογραφίες, δεν θα προσέξεις πολλά.
[EDIT] Ενάμιση χρόνο και 50.000 φωτογραφίες αργότερα έχω να πω ότι είναι ένας πολύ καλός φακός ειδικά για τα λεφτά του. Όποιος θέλει να να προσθέσει έναν prime στη συλλογή του αλλά δεν έχει 800-1000€ για έναν Sigma f/1.4 art, αυτός είναι ένα πολύ καλός φακός για κάθε χρήση.
The classic nifty-fifty. Very good lens, very good sharpness. Just what you need to get away from the kit lens and get 100% from your (crop) sensor. In crop cameras, it becomes approximately 75mm (1.5 x 50) so it's not exactly a 50mm there. However, it is a good focal length for portraits. I recommend it to any amateur who wants to deal with portraits and subject separation, that is, blurring the background.
Now for full frame, it is also good, but there are definitely better lenses that showcase the sensor better.
Ο κλασσικός nifty-fifty. Πολύ καλός φακός, πολύ καλή οξύτητα. Ότι πρέπει για να ξεφύγετε από τον kit φακό και να πάρετε το 100% απο τον (crop) αισθητήρα σας. Στις crop κάμερες γίνεται περίπου 75mm (1.5 x 50) οπότε δεν είναι ακριβώς 50αρης εκεί. Είναι ομως ένα καλό focal length για πορτραίτα. Τον προτείνω σε όποιον ερασιτέχνη θέλει να ασχοληθεί με πορτραίτο και γενικά με subject separation, αυτό δηλαδη που θολώνει το background.
Τωρα για full frame επίσης είναι καλός, αλλά υπάρχουν σίγουρα καλύτεροι φακοι που αναδεικνύουν καλύτερα τον αισθητήρα.
I use the lens on a d5600. From the 35mm, I switched to the 50mm and the difference is huge. Better colors, better bokeh, sharper, and I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration in my photos, which was a big issue with the 35mm. The x1.5 crop factor is also something I like. Overall, this lens outperforms entry-level cameras.

Καλύτερα χρώματα, καλύτερο bokeh, πιο οξυς και δεν εχω διακρίνει μέχρι στιγμής chromatic aberration σε φωτογραφια μου, οπου είχα μεγαλο θεμα με τον 35mm. Purchase in early January 2012, around 180-185 euros. Mainly used on DX sensor, on the D90 for the longest time and now on the D7500, but also (less so) on Full Frame, D750 and D810. In DX, it corresponds to approximately 76mm and is probably the top cheap portrait lens from all companies, while also being a very good general-purpose lens for FX and DX (in DX mainly for outdoor use as a small telephoto lens).
I have experience with its predecessor, the 50mm 1:1.8D. The AF-S, although more expensive, excels in my opinion in the following:
1) Sharper at wide apertures both in the center (slightly more) and mainly in the rest of the frame.
2) Bokeh clearly better and generally exceptional for its price category.
3) Coma very mild at the limits of the small sensor, which personally interests me for night shots. However, in FX, coma is still present even at 1:2.8.
4) Autofocus. It has a built-in motor, so the lens focuses almost silently and works with the D3xxx and D5xxx series, but the speed is similar (good). The big difference lies in the accuracy of autofocus, where the old one lags behind significantly (the cheap 50mm from Canon is even worse).
5) Practically no glare - flare, making the lens hood almost unnecessary.
Additionally, the lens is more than sufficient for FX, especially for the sensor of the D750. On the D810, it needs to be stopped down to at least 1:2.5 or 2.8 for more acceptable results.
And a comment on a previous review. Using a lens at its maximum aperture for portraits is the responsibility of the photographer and a matter of technique to focus correctly, i.e. on the eyes or the eye that is closest to the lens. And indeed, the nose and possibly the other eye may be out of focus.
The lens is periodically sold with cashback at 190-200 euros (or even lower), so I suggest not paying 240+ euros if you can wait a bit.
Αγορά αρχές Γενάρη 2012, γύρω στα 180-185 ευρώ. Χρησιμοποιείται κυρίως σε DX αισθητήρα, στη D90 για το μεγαλύτερο διάστημα και τώρα στη D7500, αλλά και (λιγότερο) σε Full Frame, D750 και D810. Σε DX αντιστοιχεί περίπου σε 76mm και είναι μάλλον ο κορυφαίος φτηνός φακός πορτραίτου από όλες τις εταιρείες, ενώ είναι και πολύ καλός φακός γενικής χρήσης για FX και DX (σε DX κυρίως για εξωτερική χρήση ως μικρός τηλεφακός).
Έχω εμπειρία και με τον προκάτοχό του, 50mm 1:1,8D. Ο AF-S αν και πιο ακριβός, υπερέχει κατά τη γνώμη μου στα εξής:
1)Πιο οξύς με ανοιχτά διαφράγματα τόσο στο κέντρο (λίγο μάλλον) όσο κυρίως στο υπόλοιπο κάδρο.
2)Bokeh σαφώς καλύτερο και γενικά εξαιρετικό για την κατηγορία τιμής
3)Coma πολύ ήπιο στα όρια του μικρού αισθητήρα, με ενδιαφέρει προσωπικά για νυχτερινές λήψεις. Σε FX όμως coma υπάρχει μετρίως ακόμη και στο 1:2,8
4)Autofocus. Υπάρχει ενσωματωμένο μοτέρ, άρα ο φακός εστιάζει σχεδόν αθόρυβα και συνεργάζεται και με τις σειρές D3xxx και D5xxx, αλλά η ταχύτητα είναι παρόμοια (καλή). Η μεγάλη διαφορά βρίσκεται στην ακρίβεια της αυτόματης εστίασης, όπου ο παλιός υστερεί πολύ (ο δε φτηνός 50άρης της Canon είναι ακόμη χειρότερος)
5)Πρακτικά καθόλου θάμβωση - flare, καθιστά το σκίαστρο σχεδόν περιττό.
Επιπλέον ο φακός είναι υπερεπαρκής και για FX, ιδίως για τον αισθητήρα της D750. Στη D810 χρειάζεται να κλείσει το διάφραγμα τουλάχιστον σε 1:2,5 ή 2,8 για πιο αποδεκτό αποτέλεσμα.
Και ένα σχόλιο για μια προηγούμενη κριτική. Χρησιμοποιώντας ένα φακό σε μέγιστο διάφραγμα για πορτραίτο είναι ευθύνη του φωτογράφου και ζήτημα τεχνικής να εστιάσει σωστά, δηλαδή στα μάτια ή στο μάτι που βρίσκεται πιο κοντά στο φακό. Και όντως η μύτη και ίσως το άλλο μάτι να βρίσκονται εκτός εστίασης.
Κατά τακτά διαστήματα ο φακός πωλείται με cashback στα 190-200 ευρώ (ή και χαμηλότερα), οπότε προτείνω να μη δώσετε 240+ ευρώ αν μπορείτε να περιμένετε λίγο.
Very bright lens. Very lightweight and the f 1.8 is magic. I bought it for 190 euros on sale and I don't regret it at all. I have the 70-300 and the 18-140 but they have larger minimum apertures, so here I noticed a difference in brightness.

As a newcomer to photography, I am quite satisfied with this specific lens. Before purchasing it, I had been told that it is mainly for portraits (which I am very pleased with in terms of image quality and color representation) and not for landscapes, so the only negative aspect I find is the build quality, as the focus ring's stop broke within the first 20 days and it continues to rotate beyond that point.

I have had it here for two months on a D3300. If you want an affordable and lightweight lens that takes nice portraits on cameras without autofocus motor, you won't find anything better.
If you have a D7000 or above, the Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D would be an even better choice.

A good lens for its price. Quite fast autofocus, good color reproduction, very good sharpness, and overall a nice portrait lens but not the best. On a crop camera, as many have said, it becomes 75mm which saves it somewhat, but still, the lack of VR in these lenses is a bit of a trap - it requires tripod practice. Overall, it is a very good choice and value for money.
Αξιολογος φακος για τα χρηματα του. Αρκετα γρηγορο AutoFocus , καλη χρωματικη απεικονιση, πολυ καλη οξυτητα και γενικα ωραιος πορτραιτικος φακος χωρις να ναι οτι καλυτερο. Σε crop μηχανη οπως ειπαν αρκετοι γινεται 75mm που το σωζει καπως αλλα και παλι σε αυτους τους φακους η ελλειψη VR ειναι λιγο παγιδα- θελει εξασκηση η τριποδο. Γενικα ειναι πολυ καλη επιλογη και VFM.
A very nice and must-have lens for every photographer who wants to do portraits. On crop frame cameras, it is 75mm, so almost exclusively for portraits, on full frame it is also suitable for street photography and generally fits a few more types of photography. I highly recommend it! If you have a crop frame camera and you like street photography, I suggest the 35mm AF-S DX.

Satisfactory levels of sharpness, very clean photos, and very clean bokeh (especially at f/2.8 for my own eye, always in portraits). A lens that I believe everyone should have at a reasonable price.

I have been involved in photography for years (the last 7 professionally). I believe that this specific prime lens is worth the money as it offers a high level of image rendering, considering it is one of the most affordable prime lenses in terms of price. The best prime lens at 50mm is this one from Nikon. No other 50mm prime lens surpasses its performance, even in demanding conditions where there is a lack of lighting. With an f1.8 aperture, it works wonders. It is lightweight in case someone has a compact body (camera) so as not to increase the overall weight of the lens-camera combination. It is definitely the best choice for both amateur and professional photographers as their first prime lens. It is a lens that everyone will truly love for travel and street photography, but also for portraits as it accurately captures everything in great detail, especially at 50mm without distorting faces but rendering everything in their natural size. Lastly, the bokeh of this specific prime lens is very satisfactory considering its price, which may seem strange later if you use another lens that is not prime. The autofocus makes a difference and solves many situations, and that is why it is worth considering over older versions. Good shots!

θεωρώ ότι ο συγκεκριμένος φακός prime αξίζει με το παραπάνω τα χρήματα του μιας k προσφέρει υψηλό επίπεδο απεικόνισης δεδομένου ότι είναι από τους πιο προσιτούς prime φακούς σε τιμή , και ο καλύτερος prime φακός στα 50mm είναι ο συγκεκριμένος της nikon. ένας φακός που πραγματικά όλοι θα λατρέψουν σε ταξίδια για street φωτογραφία αλλα ακόμη k πορτρέτα μιας k αποδίδει με το παραπάνω λεπτομερώς τα πάντα k κυρίως στα 50mm δεν παραμορφώνει τα πρόσωπα αλλα αποδίδει τα πάντα στο φυσικό τους μέγεθος.
τέλος το bokeh του συγκεκριμένου prime είναι τόσο ικανοποιητικό σε σχέση με την τιμή του πάντα όπου πραγματικά θα σας φαίνεται περίεργο αργότερα αν χρησιμοποιείτε κάποιον άλλον φακό p δη είναι prime.
το autofocus κάνει την διαφορα k λύνει σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις τα χερια k αυτός είναι k ο λόγος p αξίζει na τον προτιμήσετε από παλαιότερες εκδόσεις.

Lens with amazing sharpness, fast and silent focus, and excellent color reproduction. If the transition is made from a lens kit with apertures of 3.5-5.6, the difference in quality in the photos is significant. Personal opinion is that it is better than the 35mm lens since I have tried both. Its only drawback is the somewhat narrow frame, especially on crop cameras, but you quickly forget about it and adapt!

I use it on Nikon D700, I remembered the times of film when we had an SLR and a 50mm 2.8 and that was it. Lightweight, good build quality, very good sharpness and contrast, ideal for all-around use. The only thing that made a negative impression on me is that it has minimal but existent barrel distortion, something I didn't expect from a prime lens. But it's not something tragic and can be easily corrected in post-processing with the application of the corresponding lens profile.
Compared to the 50mm 1.8D that I had previously on a DX body but tried again before settling on the AF-S, I didn't see a substantial difference (the 1.8D doesn't have any distortion at all!). However, it is quieter, marginally faster in focusing. If you don't mind the noise of the motor and have a camera with built-in autofocus motor, you can blindly go for the 1.8D. Same image quality, and you save 100€. That's why I deducted one star from the quality/price ratio. But even at its price (~250€), you get a very good "glass".
Τον χρησιμοποιώ σε Nikon D700, θυμήθηκα εποχές φιλμ που είχαμε μια SLR και έναν 50άρη 2.8 και αυτό ήταν. Ελαφρύς, καλή ποιότητα κατασκευής, πολύ καλή οξύτητα και αντίθεση, ιδανικός για all around χρήση. Το μόνο που μου έκανε αρνητική εντύπωση είναι ότι παρουσιάζει ελάχιστη αλλά υπαρκτή βαρελοειδή παραμόρφωση κάτι που δεν περίμενα από prime φακό. Αλλά δεν είναι κάτι το τραγικό και διορθώνεται εύκολα στο Post-processing με την εφαρμογή του αντίστοιχου προφίλ φακού.
Σε σχέση με τον 50άρη 1.8D που είχα παλαιότερα σε DX σώμα αλλά που δοκίμασα πάλι πριν καταλήξω στον ΑF-s, δεν είδα ουσιαστική διαφορά (εκείνος δεν έχει μάλιστα καθόλου παραμόρφωση!) Είναι όμως πιο ήσυχος, οριακά και πιο γρήγορος, στην εστίαση. Αν δε σας ενοχλεί ο θόρυβος του μοτέρ και έχετε μηχανή με ενσωματωμένο μοτέρ εστίασης, με κλειστά μάτια να πάρετε τον 1.8D. Ίδια ποιότητα φωτογραφίας, γλιτώνετε και 100€. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που αφαίρεσα ένα αστέρι από την σχέση ποιότητας/τιμής. Αλλά και στην τιμή που έχει (~250€) παίρνετε πολύ καλό "γυαλί".
I haven't used it much. Only around 500 photos. But its sharpness is very good. And if you can shoot at f/2.8 or 3.5, it's perfect.
Keep in mind that it suffers from coma at the edges with wide apertures. So if you're shooting stars or small lights, it would be good to close the aperture a bit.
But overall, if you're not constantly zooming in the photos, you won't notice much.
[EDIT] One and a half years and 50,000 photos later, I have to say that it's a very good lens, especially for its price. For anyone who wants to add a prime lens to their collection but doesn't have 800-1000€ for a Sigma f/1.4 art, this is a very good lens for any use.

Υπόψιν ότι πάσχει από κόμα στις άκρες σε ανοιχτά διαφράγματα. Οπότε αν βγάζετε αστέρια, ή μικρά φωτάκια, καλό θα ήταν πάλι να κλείσετε λίγο f.
Αλλά γενικά, αν δεν ζουμάρεις συνέχεια στις φωτογραφίες, δεν θα προσέξεις πολλά.

The classic nifty-fifty. Very good lens, very good sharpness. Just what you need to get away from the kit lens and get 100% from your (crop) sensor. In crop cameras, it becomes approximately 75mm (1.5 x 50) so it's not exactly a 50mm there. However, it is a good focal length for portraits. I recommend it to any amateur who wants to deal with portraits and subject separation, that is, blurring the background.
Now for full frame, it is also good, but there are definitely better lenses that showcase the sensor better.
Ο κλασσικός nifty-fifty. Πολύ καλός φακός, πολύ καλή οξύτητα. Ότι πρέπει για να ξεφύγετε από τον kit φακό και να πάρετε το 100% απο τον (crop) αισθητήρα σας. Στις crop κάμερες γίνεται περίπου 75mm (1.5 x 50) οπότε δεν είναι ακριβώς 50αρης εκεί. Είναι ομως ένα καλό focal length για πορτραίτα. Τον προτείνω σε όποιον ερασιτέχνη θέλει να ασχοληθεί με πορτραίτο και γενικά με subject separation, αυτό δηλαδη που θολώνει το background.
Τωρα για full frame επίσης είναι καλός, αλλά υπάρχουν σίγουρα καλύτεροι φακοι που αναδεικνύουν καλύτερα τον αισθητήρα.

I use the lens on a d5600. From the 35mm, I switched to the 50mm and the difference is huge. Better colors, better bokeh, sharper, and I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration in my photos, which was a big issue with the 35mm. The x1.5 crop factor is also something I like. Overall, this lens outperforms entry-level cameras.
Τον φακό τον χρησιμοποιώ σε μια d5600. Απο τον 35mm πηγα στον 50mm και η διαφορά ειναι τεράστια. Καλύτερα χρώματα, καλύτερο bokeh, πιο οξυς και δεν εχω διακρίνει μέχρι στιγμής chromatic aberration σε φωτογραφια μου, οπου είχα μεγαλο θεμα με τον 35mm. Crop factor x1.5 εννοείται το οποιο μου αρέσει. Γενικά αυτος ο φακος τις entry level κάμερες τις ξεζουμιζει.

Purchase in early January 2012, around 180-185 euros. Mainly used on DX sensor, on the D90 for the longest time and now on the D7500, but also (less so) on Full Frame, D750 and D810. In DX, it corresponds to approximately 76mm and is probably the top cheap portrait lens from all companies, while also being a very good general-purpose lens for FX and DX (in DX mainly for outdoor use as a small telephoto lens).
I have experience with its predecessor, the 50mm 1:1.8D. The AF-S, although more expensive, excels in my opinion in the following:
1) Sharper at wide apertures both in the center (slightly more) and mainly in the rest of the frame.
2) Bokeh clearly better and generally exceptional for its price category.
3) Coma very mild at the limits of the small sensor, which personally interests me for night shots. However, in FX, coma is still present even at 1:2.8.
4) Autofocus. It has a built-in motor, so the lens focuses almost silently and works with the D3xxx and D5xxx series, but the speed is similar (good). The big difference lies in the accuracy of autofocus, where the old one lags behind significantly (the cheap 50mm from Canon is even worse).
5) Practically no glare - flare, making the lens hood almost unnecessary.
Additionally, the lens is more than sufficient for FX, especially for the sensor of the D750. On the D810, it needs to be stopped down to at least 1:2.5 or 2.8 for more acceptable results.
And a comment on a previous review. Using a lens at its maximum aperture for portraits is the responsibility of the photographer and a matter of technique to focus correctly, i.e. on the eyes or the eye that is closest to the lens. And indeed, the nose and possibly the other eye may be out of focus.
The lens is periodically sold with cashback at 190-200 euros (or even lower), so I suggest not paying 240+ euros if you can wait a bit.
Αγορά αρχές Γενάρη 2012, γύρω στα 180-185 ευρώ. Χρησιμοποιείται κυρίως σε DX αισθητήρα, στη D90 για το μεγαλύτερο διάστημα και τώρα στη D7500, αλλά και (λιγότερο) σε Full Frame, D750 και D810. Σε DX αντιστοιχεί περίπου σε 76mm και είναι μάλλον ο κορυφαίος φτηνός φακός πορτραίτου από όλες τις εταιρείες, ενώ είναι και πολύ καλός φακός γενικής χρήσης για FX και DX (σε DX κυρίως για εξωτερική χρήση ως μικρός τηλεφακός).
Έχω εμπειρία και με τον προκάτοχό του, 50mm 1:1,8D. Ο AF-S αν και πιο ακριβός, υπερέχει κατά τη γνώμη μου στα εξής:
1)Πιο οξύς με ανοιχτά διαφράγματα τόσο στο κέντρο (λίγο μάλλον) όσο κυρίως στο υπόλοιπο κάδρο.
2)Bokeh σαφώς καλύτερο και γενικά εξαιρετικό για την κατηγορία τιμής
3)Coma πολύ ήπιο στα όρια του μικρού αισθητήρα, με ενδιαφέρει προσωπικά για νυχτερινές λήψεις. Σε FX όμως coma υπάρχει μετρίως ακόμη και στο 1:2,8
4)Autofocus. Υπάρχει ενσωματωμένο μοτέρ, άρα ο φακός εστιάζει σχεδόν αθόρυβα και συνεργάζεται και με τις σειρές D3xxx και D5xxx, αλλά η ταχύτητα είναι παρόμοια (καλή). Η μεγάλη διαφορά βρίσκεται στην ακρίβεια της αυτόματης εστίασης, όπου ο παλιός υστερεί πολύ (ο δε φτηνός 50άρης της Canon είναι ακόμη χειρότερος)
5)Πρακτικά καθόλου θάμβωση - flare, καθιστά το σκίαστρο σχεδόν περιττό.
Επιπλέον ο φακός είναι υπερεπαρκής και για FX, ιδίως για τον αισθητήρα της D750. Στη D810 χρειάζεται να κλείσει το διάφραγμα τουλάχιστον σε 1:2,5 ή 2,8 για πιο αποδεκτό αποτέλεσμα.
Και ένα σχόλιο για μια προηγούμενη κριτική. Χρησιμοποιώντας ένα φακό σε μέγιστο διάφραγμα για πορτραίτο είναι ευθύνη του φωτογράφου και ζήτημα τεχνικής να εστιάσει σωστά, δηλαδή στα μάτια ή στο μάτι που βρίσκεται πιο κοντά στο φακό. Και όντως η μύτη και ίσως το άλλο μάτι να βρίσκονται εκτός εστίασης.
Κατά τακτά διαστήματα ο φακός πωλείται με cashback στα 190-200 ευρώ (ή και χαμηλότερα), οπότε προτείνω να μη δώσετε 240+ ευρώ αν μπορείτε να περιμένετε λίγο.
Very bright lens. Very lightweight and the f 1.8 is magic. I bought it for 190 euros on sale and I don't regret it at all. I have the 70-300 and the 18-140 but they have larger minimum apertures, so here I noticed a difference in brightness.

As a newcomer to photography, I am quite satisfied with this specific lens. Before purchasing it, I had been told that it is mainly for portraits (which I am very pleased with in terms of image quality and color representation) and not for landscapes, so the only negative aspect I find is the build quality, as the focus ring's stop broke within the first 20 days and it continues to rotate beyond that point.
Ως νεος στην φωτογραφια ειμαι αρκετα ικανοποιημενος με το συγκεκριμενο φακο.Πριν τον παρω μου ειχαν πει οτι ειναι κυρiως για πορτραιτα (στα οποια ειμαι πολυ ευχαριστημενος με την ποιοτητα της εικονας και την απεικονιση των χρωματων) και οχι για τοπια, οποτε το μονο αρνητικο που του βρισκω ειναι η ποιοτητα κατασκευης αφου απο τις πρωτες 20 μερες το στοπ που εχει το δαχτυλιδι του Focus εσπασε, και συνεχιζει να γυρναει περα απο εκει..
I have had it here for two months on a D3300. If you want an affordable and lightweight lens that takes nice portraits on cameras without autofocus motor, you won't find anything better.
If you have a D7000 or above, the Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D would be an even better choice.
Τον έχω εδώ και δυο μήνες σε μια D3300. Αν θέλετε οικονομικό και ελαφρύ φακό που να βγάζει ωραία πορτραίτα σε μηχανές χωρίς autofocus motor δεν θα βρείτε κάτι καλύτερο.
Αν έχετε από D7000 και πάνω, το Nikkor AF 50mm f/1.8D θα ήταν ακόμη καλύτερη επιλογή.
A good lens for its price. Quite fast autofocus, good color reproduction, very good sharpness, and overall a nice portrait lens but not the best. On a crop camera, as many have said, it becomes 75mm which saves it somewhat, but still, the lack of VR in these lenses is a bit of a trap - it requires tripod practice. Overall, it is a very good choice and value for money.
Αξιολογος φακος για τα χρηματα του. Αρκετα γρηγορο AutoFocus , καλη χρωματικη απεικονιση, πολυ καλη οξυτητα και γενικα ωραιος πορτραιτικος φακος χωρις να ναι οτι καλυτερο. Σε crop μηχανη οπως ειπαν αρκετοι γινεται 75mm που το σωζει καπως αλλα και παλι σε αυτους τους φακους η ελλειψη VR ειναι λιγο παγιδα- θελει εξασκηση η τριποδο. Γενικα ειναι πολυ καλη επιλογη και VFM.
A very nice and must-have lens for every photographer who wants to do portraits. On crop frame cameras, it is 75mm, so almost exclusively for portraits, on full frame it is also suitable for street photography and generally fits a few more types of photography. I highly recommend it! If you have a crop frame camera and you like street photography, I suggest the 35mm AF-S DX.

Σε crop frame μηχανές είναι 75mm άρα σχεδόν αποκλειστικά για πορτραίτα, σε full frame κάνει και για street photography και γενικά ταιριάζει σε λίγο παραπάνω είδη φωτογραφίας. Satisfactory levels of sharpness, very clean photos, and very clean bokeh (especially at f/2.8 for my own eye, always in portraits). A lens that I believe everyone should have at a reasonable price.

I have been involved in photography for years (the last 7 professionally). I believe that this specific prime lens is worth the money as it offers a high level of image rendering, considering it is one of the most affordable prime lenses in terms of price. The best prime lens at 50mm is this one from Nikon. No other 50mm prime lens surpasses its performance, even in demanding conditions where there is a lack of lighting. With an f1.8 aperture, it works wonders. It is lightweight in case someone has a compact body (camera) so as not to increase the overall weight of the lens-camera combination. It is definitely the best choice for both amateur and professional photographers as their first prime lens. It is a lens that everyone will truly love for travel and street photography, but also for portraits as it accurately captures everything in great detail, especially at 50mm without distorting faces but rendering everything in their natural size. Lastly, the bokeh of this specific prime lens is very satisfactory considering its price, which may seem strange later if you use another lens that is not prime. The autofocus makes a difference and solves many situations, and that is why it is worth considering over older versions. Good shots!
Ασχολούμαι χρονια με την φωτογραφία (τα τελευταία 7 επαγγελματικά)
θεωρώ ότι ο συγκεκριμένος φακός prime αξίζει με το παραπάνω τα χρήματα του μιας k προσφέρει υψηλό επίπεδο απεικόνισης δεδομένου ότι είναι από τους πιο προσιτούς prime φακούς σε τιμή , και ο καλύτερος prime φακός στα 50mm είναι ο συγκεκριμένος της nikon. Kανένας άλλος φακός prime 50mm δεν ξεπερνάει την απόδοση του ακόμη και στις πιο απαιτητικές συνθήκες όπου υπάρχει ελλείψει φωτισμού με f1.8 κάνει θαύματα.

Lens with amazing sharpness, fast and silent focus, and excellent color reproduction. If the transition is made from a lens kit with apertures of 3.5-5.6, the difference in quality in the photos is significant. Personal opinion is that it is better than the 35mm lens since I have tried both. Its only drawback is the somewhat narrow frame, especially on crop cameras, but you quickly forget about it and adapt!
Φακός με εκπληκτικη οξύτητα,γρήγορο και αθόρυβο focus και εξαιρετική αποτύπωση χρωμάτων.Αν η μετάβαση γίνει δε από κιτ φακούς με διαφράγματα 3.5-5 6 η διαφορά ποιότητας στις φωτογραφίες είναι μεγάλη.Προσωπική άποψη ότι είναι καλύτερος από τον 35mm αφού έχω δοκιμάσει και τους 2.
Μοναδικό του μειονέκτημα το κάπως στενό κάδρο ειδικά σε crop μηχανές το οποιο όμως το ξεχνάς γρήγορα και προσαρμόζεσαι!
I use it on Nikon D700, I remembered the times of film when we had an SLR and a 50mm 2.8 and that was it. Lightweight, good build quality, very good sharpness and contrast, ideal for all-around use. The only thing that made a negative impression on me is that it has minimal but existent barrel distortion, something I didn't expect from a prime lens. But it's not something tragic and can be easily corrected in post-processing with the application of the corresponding lens profile.
Compared to the 50mm 1.8D that I had previously on a DX body but tried again before settling on the AF-S, I didn't see a substantial difference (the 1.8D doesn't have any distortion at all!). However, it is quieter, marginally faster in focusing. If you don't mind the noise of the motor and have a camera with built-in autofocus motor, you can blindly go for the 1.8D. Same image quality, and you save 100€. That's why I deducted one star from the quality/price ratio. But even at its price (~250€), you get a very good "glass".
Τον χρησιμοποιώ σε Nikon D700, θυμήθηκα εποχές φιλμ που είχαμε μια SLR και έναν 50άρη 2.8 και αυτό ήταν. Ελαφρύς, καλή ποιότητα κατασκευής, πολύ καλή οξύτητα και αντίθεση, ιδανικός για all around χρήση. Το μόνο που μου έκανε αρνητική εντύπωση είναι ότι παρουσιάζει ελάχιστη αλλά υπαρκτή βαρελοειδή παραμόρφωση κάτι που δεν περίμενα από prime φακό. Αλλά δεν είναι κάτι το τραγικό και διορθώνεται εύκολα στο Post-processing με την εφαρμογή του αντίστοιχου προφίλ φακού.
Σε σχέση με τον 50άρη 1.8D που είχα παλαιότερα σε DX σώμα αλλά που δοκίμασα πάλι πριν καταλήξω στον ΑF-s, δεν είδα ουσιαστική διαφορά (εκείνος δεν έχει μάλιστα καθόλου παραμόρφωση!) Είναι όμως πιο ήσυχος, οριακά και πιο γρήγορος, στην εστίαση. Αν δε σας ενοχλεί ο θόρυβος του μοτέρ και έχετε μηχανή με ενσωματωμένο μοτέρ εστίασης, με κλειστά μάτια να πάρετε τον 1.8D. Ίδια ποιότητα φωτογραφίας, γλιτώνετε και 100€. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που αφαίρεσα ένα αστέρι από την σχέση ποιότητας/τιμής. Αλλά και στην τιμή που έχει (~250€) παίρνετε πολύ καλό "γυαλί".
I haven't used it much. Only around 500 photos. But its sharpness is very good. And if you can shoot at f/2.8 or 3.5, it's perfect.
Keep in mind that it suffers from coma at the edges with wide apertures. So if you're shooting stars or small lights, it would be good to close the aperture a bit.
But overall, if you're not constantly zooming in the photos, you won't notice much.
[EDIT] One and a half years and 50,000 photos later, I have to say that it's a very good lens, especially for its price. For anyone who wants to add a prime lens to their collection but doesn't have 800-1000€ for a Sigma f/1.4 art, this is a very good lens for any use.
Ο πρώτος μου φακός, με D610.
Δεν του έχω κάνει και πολύ χρήση. Ίσα με 500 φωτογραφίες. Αλλά η οξύτητα του είναι πολύ καλή. Και αν μπορείς να πέσεις σε f/2.8 ή 3.5 είναι τέλειος.
Υπόψιν ότι πάσχει από κόμα στις άκρες σε ανοιχτά διαφράγματα. Οπότε αν βγάζετε αστέρια, ή μικρά φωτάκια, καλό θα ήταν πάλι να κλείσετε λίγο f.
Αλλά γενικά, αν δεν ζουμάρεις συνέχεια στις φωτογραφίες, δεν θα προσέξεις πολλά.
[EDIT] Ενάμιση χρόνο και 50.000 φωτογραφίες αργότερα έχω να πω ότι είναι ένας πολύ καλός φακός ειδικά για τα λεφτά του. Όποιος θέλει να να προσθέσει έναν prime στη συλλογή του αλλά δεν έχει 800-1000€ για έναν Sigma f/1.4 art, αυτός είναι ένα πολύ καλός φακός για κάθε χρήση.
The classic nifty-fifty. Very good lens, very good sharpness. Just what you need to get away from the kit lens and get 100% from your (crop) sensor. In crop cameras, it becomes approximately 75mm (1.5 x 50) so it's not exactly a 50mm there. However, it is a good focal length for portraits. I recommend it to any amateur who wants to deal with portraits and subject separation, that is, blurring the background.
Now for full frame, it is also good, but there are definitely better lenses that showcase the sensor better.
Ο κλασσικός nifty-fifty. Πολύ καλός φακός, πολύ καλή οξύτητα. Ότι πρέπει για να ξεφύγετε από τον kit φακό και να πάρετε το 100% απο τον (crop) αισθητήρα σας. Στις crop κάμερες γίνεται περίπου 75mm (1.5 x 50) οπότε δεν είναι ακριβώς 50αρης εκεί. Είναι ομως ένα καλό focal length για πορτραίτα. Τον προτείνω σε όποιον ερασιτέχνη θέλει να ασχοληθεί με πορτραίτο και γενικά με subject separation, αυτό δηλαδη που θολώνει το background.
Τωρα για full frame επίσης είναι καλός, αλλά υπάρχουν σίγουρα καλύτεροι φακοι που αναδεικνύουν καλύτερα τον αισθητήρα.
