After long-term research and preparation, we created a collectible series of figures with the valuable contribution of archaeologists and educators. The twelve gods of Olympus come to teach children valuable lessons in mythology through play!
Hephaestus, the god of fire, volcanoes, and metallurgy, was the son of Zeus and Hera. According to myth, he was born in Lemnos and was trained by the Naxian blacksmith, Kidalion, who taught the young god to forge and work with metals.
Regarding the early years of his life and his disability, tradition says that when Hera gave birth to Hephaestus on Olympus, she asked to see her baby. However, upon seeing the lame and dark-skinned infant, she became enraged and threw him from Olympus. Hephaestus ended up in the Ocean, where he was taken in by Thetis and Eurynome and spent the early years of his life in the palace of Nereus.
For the ancient Greeks, Hephaestus was the personification of fire, which greatly aided the human race in its early stages, with the intervention of Prometheus.
